Yea.. Download with a different browser like mozilla/firefox. IE7 has a bug that downloads invalid or corrupt files.

Got problem. i've did everything like it is in tutorial, and it's just don't work. I'd replaced old usbport (changed it to .old) and put in drivers brand new 500hz usbport for vista32. And it just don't work. Still got 125 hz. Any idea?

i just checked my rate and its average is 51mhz, i am so going ot use this program for and recheck my gaming use.

If you're downloading this file with IE7 - DONT. Try downloading it in Firefox or another browser. IE7 screws up the file for some reason.

Once you've done that, it'll all be much clearer.

Okay, I found usbport.sys in System32, drivers, should I change that to .old ? please help me to get step 6 done !!!

thankyou for the vista files

ive just got a saitek gm3200 and had no idea about

the polling interval ...... now my instagib play might be a tad more accurate :)

edit...(using vista ultimate x64)

useing the mouserate program before and after

seems to show only the same wide variance of 1hz to 1340hz

during some reading tonight i came across a review that said my mouse could only manage 500hz so im a bit confused

ive used the 500 usbport.sys (x64) should mouserate show 500 all the time ?

going through my dpi settings 800,1600,2400,3200 seems to only affect the minimum value hz ,i can still hit 1340hz on 800dpi

did i need to do this fix for my mouse ?

a previous poster mentioned they could only find usbport.sys in syswow64 (another vista64 user)... mine was in system32

I am using Vista Ultimate 32bit, and I have used one other patcher - "USB Mouse Rate Adjuster Setup" and it didnt do anything.

I have used this kind of hack on windows xp, and it makes my mouse work on 1000mhz. Mouse is mx518, but now I have Vista and my mouse ran on 125mhz. I used the vista method of hacking the mouse rate (which is discribed in this thread) and my mouse's rate increased only to 250mhz. Where could be the problem? I really like playing on 1000mhz, it makes a lot of diffrence!

EDIT: 500Mhz is working too, only the 1000Mhz is not :(

In case anyone would like oc'ing their mice using qute more advanced yet easy way, google for hidusbf(USB Mouse Rate Adjuster by SweetLow). No need to copy/paste anything, no restart required typically, and most important imo, that this approach affects only mouse, so other usb devices operate @ default frequency, unless you deliberately put them in list. And don't let the fact that developer and most of concernining topics are in russian, there's complete english guide included with the program. Get it here. Don't forget to check for viruses though. xD

I use Vista Home Premium X64 on my computer...

Tried the steps, replaced the file with 500hz usbport.sys that was inside the zip file....

Rebooted, no USB devices worked...

I used this mouse on Win XP Pro before with 500hz without any problems...

So the mouse can handle it.. no problem...

Can someone figure out why this doesnt work?

C\Windows\System32\Drivers\usbport.sys

(i use swedish version on vista, can that have an affect? :S)

Thanks a lot man, Worked perfectly for me on Vista Ultimate 32bit

And I never knew there was such a huge difference between 500hz and 125hz, I used 500hz on Windows XP, and switched to Vista the other day and my accuracy was way off, seems to be back to its usual moderately good self since switching back to 500hz :)

Thanks again o/
