Vista usbport.sys 500hz mouse polling rate.

Hmm, I have my mouse at 1000hz... Should I turn that down? (and yes, I did set that cause I thought it sounded cool )

500hz should be more than enough. I would imagine the difference between 2ms and 1ms is negligible.

Houston we have a problem.... Replaced the old file with the one in the file and renamed it usbport.sys, rebooted Windows, no USB. WTH is goin' on here?

I best be able to get in to the god damn repair console and change it back to the old file.

Dude, I've had a few people downloading the file on here and renaming it to usbport.sys - you didn't do that did ya?

Yeah... I renamed the extracted file obviously, not the zip.

For some reason there was a problem with the zip file under certain versions of winrar. This is now fixed.

I did see the x64 one floating around on the net when I was searching google. I can't remember where tho. I'll see if it's still in my history when I get home tonight.

hmm, seems it doesnt work here, extracted the file, renamed and neither 1000 nor 500hz one works, also ive reckognized that my original usbport.sys is a 220kb file while ur modified ones are only 105, something doesnt fit cause i dont belive that just changing the poll rate is reducing the file size so much :O

You need to unzip the file mate. When i open those zip files there is a usbport.sys in each of them sized at around 220k

Did you replace the bits that say "username" with your username?

I'll do it again on a virtual machine and check it out.

I just tested the 1000hz file, proper installed. The mouserate app show me a 400+hz polling rate and no 1000Hz as I was able to use under Windows XP.
