Vista usbport.sys 500hz mouse polling rate.

hey I just download this tweak and ran your mouserate and it says 100hz all the time not 1000hz rarely it will go up to 480ish hz

I don't think this tweak works

the 1000 hz usbport.sys file was used

Did you ever run it under Windows XP? It could be a limitation with your USB port.

its not a limitation from my usb port

i plugged in my razer diamondback and im getting 500hz constantly

so its a limitation of my microsoft intellimouse 4.0

however im going to try increasing this to 1000hz on my razer :worship:

I have had this at work with one of the microsoft mice :(

it was the really bad one with the dodgy scroll wheel that went sideways whenever u pushed it (was a nightmare on AutoCAD)

Hello and thanks for the tutorial/files..

There's just one thing. I have logitech MX518 and when I did that the hz didn't change on mouserate software.

So before I did it it was 97hz and it's 97hz now. Is that mousrate software working in vista or..?

thanks for the fix :)

worked for me after i figured out that i needed to change the driveletter and the username part in the commands hehe, thanks.

Tried this on Vista 32bit business edition... killed my mouse (until I reverted back to old usbport.sys file).

Maybe I did something wrong... just for confirmation, was I supposed to leave usbport_x32_500hz as it was? I renamed it to usbport.sys (and it put it in the folder with the usbport.old ).

Upon reboot my mouse didn't work at all. So I used my keyboard to restore the old file.

I'm using a logitech MX1000... maybe its not compatible due to wireless interface. Anyone have any info for me?

Same here, the file that's hosted for download here is corrupt mefinks, we need to get it reuploaded. Jim?

The exact same thing happened to me on x86 Vista Biz, was a friggin' nightmare.

Does anyone have the hex edit values, maybe someone could just make a proper patcher or even hex edit it manually like on XP

It might even be similar to the XP hexedit, I can't check tho as I don't have Vista.

That's the 2nd time i've uploaded em. Dunno why its corrupted for u lot :/

I didn't notice any differance on my mx400 mouse, mouserate is still 125mhz.

I have Vista Business x86 and i copyed usbport.sys for 500mhz. Any idea? Maybe mouse can't handle 500mhz? Did i do somethink wrong?

Edit: commant "4. Run the following command from the Run box: cacls "C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\usbport.sys" /G username:F" did go well, it got me that it some ip's counldn't be changed. I needed to add right ti "write, delete,..." by myself and manualy. Is that problem?

I did run Vista in safe mode.

What could be a problem?

Hey guys,

could someone do the same fix for windows xp x64? It seems that i am to stupid to modify the usbport.sys by myself :)

thanks in advance

Fetza

It doesn't work for me. Is it different for different versions of Windows Vista, or am I simply doing something wrong?

Is there anyone that can open these files? If so, any chance you can unzip them and zip them back up? My 7zip seems to like corrupting files :\

Followed the steps, tried both files (32 bit windows), neither worked. Both gave me a mouse rate of max 125.

Using the Logitech MX Revolution mouse.
