And then on Shangri La as follows:

How does that work with the 320mb beating the 640mb at high resolutions on the more challenging map too.

Ok on the 3rd map Suspence the 640mb finally edges it out at the higher res but still loses out on the lowest res test.:

OK it ran smooth on my PC. Meh if it didn't I'd get parts that made it.

Good graphics and all but the gameplay sucks. I have horrible mouse lag and the gameplay is nothing like the previous UT's.

I'm downloading the demo now and see how my opty @ 2.4 Ghz, with 7800gt runs it - I hope I can get medium settings or something?

I'm still looking to build a 2nd PC now anyway so this may be the push I need to get dual core, 8 series gfx :yumyum:

I have just been playing it today and it is amazing.

I've not been online or anything for ages on cs:s got a bit bored of FPS again and also haven't really booted into windows for a few weeks, pos a month.

It seems that the UT3 Beta Demo has been released (12-10-07)

I know I'm a bit slow on the uptake, but I've been watching the Rugby & haven't been on any FPS games (CS:S) for weeks so have sort of been out of the loop.

I'm a bit dissapointed that there isn't a mac demo or even a linux demo as I would like to see how it runs on mac os and I also really don't like having to use windows.

You need a gamespy account in order to even get onto the game and connect to servers.

I have just spent the last hour or two getting into the game, tweaking it and all. It runs amazingly smooth on my system with all the effects etc on.

Once I had the mouse sensitivity and pitch speeds etc set so they were similar to my usual settings in ut2k4 it was amazing.

I also setup the graphics to be similar to ut2k aswell as disabling the camera and weapon bob. It reminds me a bit of the original UT.

It's so easy to get into and as with most good FPS games gets you into the action right from your first spawn. The only thing I don't like is vehicles in DM? I hope they don't do this on the release, but I'm guessing they only added them to show people what they will be like. There is a overpowered spider like robot which looks very similar to halflife2.

Some of the guns are a bit samey, but still very good. The machinegun seems very powerfull.

It seems really smooth on my setup, the fps is capped at 60 and there doesn't seem to be much fluctuation at all when playing with everything on.

I have set it up like my ut2k4 for online/competitive play tho.

I will deffinately order it, if only for the fact it is going to have linux & mac os ports.

You seen gears of war? That uses the UT3 engine. It's gonna be the sex. If the previous ones are anything to go by, the action is always quick, tactical and great fun once you get into it.

Umm, gameplay is very similar to previous versions, with a few additional game types. You playing the same game?

I've had a quick blast on it and it does indeed pwn! It runs pretty well on my PC, but I do get the occasional stutter when a lot of effects are going on. Can't wait to build another PC to run this on MAX :yumyum:.

I love the look of all the guns + vehicles in the game and they 'feel' right too. The minigun ownz :ar:

I've found a few tweaks changed crosshair colour, m_pitch, disable bob, disable weapon bob, disable intro movies, disable jump/fall judder & found a way to remove the FPS cap.

I got 165fps looking at the floor lol

Seems to average at 100fps with the custom settings.

ok so i finally managed to get an exe that installed and now it wont work, it did and i loved it but now when i try to start it, it loads game loads map loads can fly around map.. click fire to start as soon as it start black screen crash WTF?!

I installed it last night and just played it... It does look quality... Its frantic and some dude kept blowing me up with 1 shot which was annoying but then i started to get the hang of it... KILLING SPREEEEEE!

Can ya change the AA? Couldn't see it in the settings.. 8800GTS 320 never fell below the cap.
