When you consider the amount of variety on the website I think it balences out tbh.

There may be a higher ratio on the videos but then the videos almost double the work on a single product. Also need to remember we are all in different places in the country and not in one place like Linus for example.

I totally get what people are saying, all Im trying to say is when you take everything into consideration I think its all understandable.

As for not getting kit its honestly not down to working closely with anyone else, its either fear that substandard products will get outed OR they just dont have many samples. Sometimes I get given a 3 day window with a motherboard for example, well even if I review it that thing wont get a video and thats all down to time and unreasonable demands :p

You have said in videos there is a lot more going on, on the website than Youtube if some people are too lazy to come to the Website that's not your problem.

Yes people just dont seem to understand that there's more to OC3D than just videos and that the web site has more products reviewed but people are lazy they would rather watch a video than god forbid READ!

I get why and if I had staff it would be different. Im just doing my best with what I can for now though.

i like biebers new stuff. hes really matured as an artist hehe.

i think the majority of the forum bros and broettes are fairly content with the content (i am not content with asus new rog colour scheme though) and youtube buttsniffers are just junior idiots learning the way of the entitled douche moan bag that is becoming ever more present in society. on youtube if a person isnt saying something obviously positive i tend to laugh and ignore it.

[...]I just don't see why we need to make fun of Americans(not offended personally to be clear).[...]

I have two words for you sir.

Donald Trump.

/offtopic

Tom, you keep doing what you're doing if it makes you happy. Don't let a few neysayers ruin it for you.

Agree with SuB and all the positive comments on here.

I for one am not bothered about product balance. I watch TTL videos because they are in depth, detailed, and I like the one to one feel they have - it's like sitting down with Tom and him telling me what he thinks about a product. Yes, there will be more videos about Asus and Corsair kit, because these companies send more kit to be reviewed. If other manufacturers sent their kit to Tom, he would cover more kit in the videos. Plus, there are a huge number of different brands covered in the written reviews.

There is one huge thing I like about Toms videos - integrity. If something is good, he says why it's good. If something is bad, he says why it's bad and what needs to change for it to be good. Fortunately, he has a good reputation as a balanced reviewer with the likes of Corsair, ASUS and NZXT so he can say it how it is without having to duck flying dummies afterwards.

Other video reviewers don't get this balance right - Linus is just a box reader who thinks anything he's currently holding is the best thing ever, and JayZ can't seem to open his gob these days without a manufacturer having a social media meltdown. And the problem is, if you pee off a company, they don't send you samples to review. No products, no videos.

So Tom, say bollocks to the trolls and the idiots who think you owe them something, keep on making the content you want to make - it's your channel and you use it as you see fit.

My first post on this matter and after reading all the comments many people have points worth considering mainly JR23s post #36 on Page 4, take no notice of the trolls, you do a fantastic job with what you have to work with.
It is not your fault that every manufacturer doesn't send you everything to review it's a supply and demand thing with many factors which have already been discussed like sample numbers, location and time scales.. you can't be held accountable for that.

As JR23 already pointed out, Asus and Corsair have been amazing for OC3D they have really gone balls to the wall to provide you with tech on a regular basis and that has to be commended, I personally have a fondness for Asus & Corsair and when it comes to reviews I always see OC3D as the go to site for their products. The same can also be said for MSI too, even though the "Dragons" and naming schemes are becoming a touch too much.. Sorry MSI but less is more ;)

Sure I don't always like or agree with every video or review but I'm not the person doing them and I appreciate the fact that you have, which brings me to the awards thing. People need to take into consideration that it's not just Tom that does the reviewing! The author is located at the top of each review and the awards are given by the author of the article, the way I see it if a product gets Gold then it's a recommended buy, Silver is a par award, Bronze would be sub par and well no award just speaks for itself.

Now for the Troll video, I haven't watched it in it's entirety mainly because you do go off on a tangent and repeat yourself a lot, you also do this in a lot of your reviews too not sure if you're aware of it. I'm so please that you have found your mojo again and it does show in your videos the energy and enthusiasm is back so lets crack on and move forward.

Trolls, pay no attention! pay no attention to the unsubs many more will replace them, ignore the nay sayers. Keep your chin up Guv and crack on, your doing a grand job and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

N.B if everyone could stop comparing Linu$hitips to OC3D that'd be great!

This make a lot of sense and i agree

The awards i agree they need to stay like other people have said it gives companies the awards to display on their webpages.

Sure there are a lot of Gold awards but i think they're correct and it's not like you're just handing out White Gold awards either, Has to be a very special case for a product to get a "White Gold Award"

I completely agree with the part about MSI ;)

Good video and don't pay attention to the trolls Tom, they'll always be here. You're doing great work and that's why I come here, and the forum is excellent too. Looking forward to upcoming videos mate!!

Trolls are trolls. Youtube seems to be the worst but that's probably just because you don't have to subscribe to see, comment or be recommended a video.

Slightly off topic - I'm connected on FB (OC3D & TTL) Twitter (OC3D), the forums obviously and youtube.
Which is the better forum to help out the channel? Like is it worth giving the video a thumbs up or is revenue based on views? I've never really considered it before. Similarly for retweets and likes I get it can show your potential advertisers your market reach I was just wondering if one is more effective than the other.

No issues remembering to vote up a video if it helps out. It's just not something I've ever really done.

This is so true.

More and more people nowadays are becoming so self entitled it's extremely disturbing.

If they don't get things spoon fed to them, Free things thrown at them, Ludicrous demands met, They throw tantrums.

I hope this trend as of late starts to subside though as it's getting very annoying.

The real trouble with society and the younger generation is there's no discipline nowadays so there's no accountability and also there's no real life skills being passed down either any more which is creating generations of self centered aholes and despite so called advances as a society we are going backwards

So true !

My little cousin who is 18 but thankfully not a self entitled little a*** wipe, 12 years younger than me, Doesn't know so many things that I learned growing up, Not saying I'm a genius and he's dumb or anything but basic life skill type things or certain crafts.

If it's not on a smartphone, The younger generation nowadays just don't have a clue about it.

Because said 'older' generation really didn't mess up with all that discipline you talk about . Nope not at all.
