Transfer videos from iPhone to iPhone help

Hey guys,

I just wanna start off by I know how people might feel about Apple, iPhones etc and that's fine. Everyone has their opinions and has every right to have it.

But in this case, I personally don't care about what your opinions are regarding them, that's your own personal view. This is a thread which I am asking for help on how to fix a problem that has occured to me. So I'd appreciate it if we could leave comments such as "that's why you don't get an iphone" for example, out of this thread. I'd much rather appreciate genuine advice/help on resolving this issue.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, onto the actual point/issue with this thread.

So I have some old own recorded videos on my iPhone 6, that I'd like to transfer to my new iPhone 7.

Now I copied my old 6 onto my new 7, so all apps etc are copied over to my new phone. The only things that didn't wanna go over were my own recorded videos, which I want to have.

These videos are under the "Video" app that is one of the standard ones in an iPhone.

Do anyone in here knows how to actually get them onto my new iphone, without having to sync again with iTunes and risk loosing everything due to the sync?

Thanks,
Chrazey

You shouldn't lose them in the sync. Is your phone backed up to iCloud or to a local pc running iTunes? I never had any issues upgrading from one phone to another. You back up your old phone to iTunes then you plug in your new phone, restore from the back up you just made and all should be there.

Yes, this was exactly my thoughts as well and still are... Yet I was very surprised when I noticed those videos didn't get transfered. I even tried reseting and re-doing the process few times, all with the same end results. Which I found very strange.

I don't use iCloud, since I like and prefer having everything on my iPhone itself. But I did copy my old iphone onto my PC before syncing it onto my 7, went fine without any issues. Except for what this thread is about.

And now I'm out of ideas here ...

When you plug it in do you get an option to transfer photo's/videos etc? IF that doesn't work then there are still some free programs that can get the videos off your old phone on to your pc.

Just use file explorer on your PC, navigate to the DCIM folders, find the videos then copy to desktop, then plug in new iPhone, then place them in DCIM folder ...... done.

I tried both of your suggestions and for some odd reason, every other recorded video are popping up, although these are in the camera roll folder.

But the ones in the "Videos" app on the iphone, the ones that I want, just simply don't want to pop up...

This app:

download.php

That isn't part of your camera at all so won't be in DCIM.

Also, Videos was renamed to the TV app at least in my region. Not sure if that's how it is for you or not, but they may be in the TV app on your new device.

Ahh, well that explains it then... Do you know how to get those though?.

Nahh, it called "Videos" on my iPhone.
