Titanium Red

Looks really nice. What have you got on the floor? A blank plate? Light box or a stealth cover for something? Nice work on the soundcard back plate.

It's a 3mm thick "stealthy" acrylic plate that covers the ugly HDD bays. I mounted my HDD/SSD in the back-chamber of the case where the PSU is at.

This gives a better view at it:

It's the H110i GT

That's correct.

Yeah looks good. The caddies (visually) were the only real thing I didn't like about the Air series.

Yep, first thing i "changed" in my 540.

Put the HDD in the back, together with my SSD's. I have something in mind for a final solution but my current solution will do just fine. The HDD sits there firm and sturdy, can't go anywhere.

Got rid of my Corsair H110i GT and got myself some custom water cooling parts. Done 24-hour leak testing yesterday and assembled the rest of the system again. Pretty satisfied with both the performance and the looks.

I had to move my HDD to the 5.25 drive-bay though because i put the pump/res combo in the rear of the case. Made a grill/mesh for the drive-bay so that the HDD gets at least some room to breath. Haven't seen it go higher than 34c.

Hello, top looking build mate!

Wanted to ask where you got those wire combs for the braided cables? I just made a system in the past few weeks too.

They're called 'cable combs' indeed, you should be able to buy them in any decent hardware store. I bought mine at highflow, a dutch online-store that ships all over the world. If you can't find them anywhere near you, you can always order them there:

all this work only to cool an i5? It doesn t need it!
you could watercool the gpu instead.

as it is now, it s only a waste of time (btw great cable management!)

huh that doesn't make sense, hell i would do a custom water cool for an i5 but maybe the OP doesn't want to water cool his GPU.

But.... you have an Alienware.

It has an AIO cooler on the CPU and an aircooled graphics card...

Very nice system OP, well done! :)

Very nice system OP, well done! :)

I have on my sign my Aienware, but i have many custom build pcs. (build and sell pcs was my job)

btw, my alienware has a terrible aio liquid cooling, worst than most good air coolers (and the cpu 3970x is an esacore extreme edition, 150w at default, can reach 300w in oc 5ghz. this aio can barely handle this cpu at def )

Or it's just stage one with GPU to follow. I think it looks great.

i think it looks great too

A 360 EK radiator, EK GTX Titan-X waterblock + backplate, some more tubing and a whole bunch of fittings are ordered already. Currently waiting for it to be delivered. So yes, this is stage one of my watercooling loop, i will be adding the other stuff in the next days.

So you were right guys, some updates coming soon :)

i wrote it s useless, i5 doesn t need it

Not to sound harsh, but what kind of bollocks is this?

First of all, my i5 6600k currently runs at 4700Mhz, 1.415v. Everything above 1.4v runs pretty damn hot, no matter if you have a i5 or i7. Saying an i5 doesn't need watercooling doesn't make any sense whatsoever. What if i want it for the silence? what if i live in a very warm environment?

I believe water cooling a i5 6600k is well worth it. It gave me a near quiet computer, 15-20 degrees lower temps and i'm able to push my cpu further than before. Heck, i am still pushing this thing towards 4800mhz now.

In a general note: half of the stuff we put into our rigs aren't needed, we could all run stock coolers on our stock cpu's, right? It's a hobby, my passion, a moneysink. You're on a computer enthousiast forum after all. We do this kind of things ;)

Oh, and thank you for the kind feedback guys! Appreciated :)

Bit of a nonsense thing to write. In most cases, watercooling is done for several reasons. For aesthetics, make a build pleasing to the eye, and for maximum performance achievements.

I had an i5 and watercooling it, allowed me to push it to its limits while keeping it at 56C @ 4.7Ghz.

Can you give a reason not to watercool an i5 apart from saying its useless?

And not to take away the OPs glory here. It is a really nicely done case, clean, organised and one of the few red builds I don't mind ;)

Thanks guys, really appreciate the feedback. I'm still waiting for my parts to arrive, most likely going to be Monday. I will probably also Plasti Dip my entire case into a matte black color, it will match better with the other parts than the standard grey/black from Corsair.

To be continued :)
