Tick---Tock......Tick---Tock......P4 Upgrade!!!

Ok guys, I stopped at the hardware store on the way home and they had a very limited selection of 3M hardware.

No 3M set screws longer than 6mm, so I bought up an assortment of what they did have.

I set up camp with my netbook, so I could have a computer while I tear down my old rig.

That H60 looks awesome!

Well, you definitely take your time

The hose on that h60 looks tiny, but I suppose that increases flow + pressure? also that motherboard looks the dogs

I got the H-60 mounted up just fine...

DSC00849.jpg

The Cooler Master 2011 adapters are about 4mm shorter than I think the Corsair ones would be so I found some nylon washers 1.5mm thick and slide them in between the H-60 and the CM adapters, to keep from putting too much pressure on the socket,by over tightening the screws.

The lines on it are regular 1/4" tygon lines, It's alot bigger than what comes on the H-60. They are corragatted plastic, heat shrunk onto the barbs.

I believe this is better than other mods I seen, that adapt to 3/8" or larger hose straight to the pump. The H-60 flow rate is pathetic, with bigger hoses the heated water would spend more time in the hoses. The way I have it there is only about 200ml of coolant is in the loop, and most of it spends most of it's time in the radiator , instead of in the over sized (just for looks) hose.

I think anyone looking to get into water cooling should look into this, even the cheaper H-40 would be fine. It lets you get water in your system cheap, than you can plan out your real cooling loop, buy the rads you want a couple 1/4" nipples and a few feet of hose. Next you could add in a res, but I don't think any of the H series pump blocks have enough head for that. It was a major pain in the ass to bleed this thing out, if you have bubbles in your rad, it can't pull them out like a real pump could.

The beast way to do it is dry fit the block and rad in the case, hose it all up, than pull it out in one piece and run it while twisting it all around, it takes hours!!

It's not in the case yet, I'm still working on the final version of the H-60 mount, I want a more original look using the original H-60 thunbscrews.

After much searching for my Dremel cut off wheel mandrel I finally got the heads cut off the M3 x 16mm screws. I used blue thread locker to hold them in, this gives me a stud, just like what the H-60 needs.

DSC00853.jpg

Now I won't have to fight lining up 8 plastic washers every time I remove the block, and I can use the thumb screws Included with the H-60 for an all original look.

Ok, I mounted up the H-60, I think it looks factory.

I striped my case down and got rid of alittle dust I don't need anymore!

DSC00856.jpg

The old CPU look puny compared to the new on.

The new all Black I/O shield looks way better!!

After hours of fighting the 8 pin power cable, I finally got the board in!!
banghead.gif
I dropped a motherboard screw and it logged somewhere in the bottom of the case, took me a bit to find it!!
banghead.gif
I have to order a 8-pin extension cable, it's about an inch too short, I would have to flip the power supply or go through the grommet above the one the others are going through, that will have to do for now.

Mounted my Gelid not so Silent 12 fans to hold the rad an, and it's time for a break!!

DSC00860.jpg

Since one day I might want to put more than one SSD in this thing I decided to put a drive cage in now, since its a bear to put in with a full rig in it.

DSC00861.jpg

Another thing I forgot to order is a USB 3.0 adapter, so I installed the loop back pci bracket included with the 600T.

DSC00862.jpg

I remember when this first came about, I wondered how the hell you even get a cable back there? But, its long enough to go through the rear fan/8 pin hole along the fan. not the prettiest thing but it will gave to do for now.

DSC00863.jpg

The 24 pin power connector lines up great with the top grommet!

DSC00864.jpg

Installed all the front panel connectors. It slowed me down due to the AC'97 audio plug hanging by the power supply fan, so I cut it off.

Bolted in my old Intel 320.(only thing I have right now I trust)

DSC00866.jpg

Slid in the graphics cards.

DSC00867.jpg

Spent a couple hours messing about re running all the wires, mostly re ordering the fans on the Lamptron. Slide on the SLI bridge, and messed about with the wires some more.

DSC00868.jpg

The wires still got a long way to go, so I took alittle timw to install my Phantek 140mm fan.

DSC00869.jpg

gonna go see if I can force the back door on and see if it will post!?!

looking good bro. FYI the evo can be mounted either way up/down or front back. Just gotta play with the scissor bracket some to make it work.

After a LED light show given off by the motherboards Q-LED system It booted into UEFI. I stumbled around a bit and changed the boot priories, disabled the fan controls and checked the temps, 38C!!!! Waiting on the slow optical drive now.

Well Done. This build is nice and Tidy. Once you get a USB3 Adapter to plug into the motherboard, it will be the 'Icing on the Cake' so to speak

USB 3.0 adapter to get rid of the loop back, a 8-pin extension(it drives me crazy it's an inch too short), and a few other power cables(the Corsair cables are a joke, I got everything on a sata to molex adapter because Corsair made most of the cables unusable) than I will be happy

Right now I'm trying to figure out how to load up the XMP profile, to get my memory up to it's rated speeds.
