SR2 was acting strange...ppd was about 50k off of normal. Checked the rig and the kraken affinity wrapper was not engaged

It has been on for 10 straight bigbeta units, so I'm not sure how all of a sudden it could just stop working.

Once I got that sorted I could not boot back into Ubuntu. After messing with my o/c and finally just setting it to stock to see if I could boot, I realized my CPU1 temperature was 90C! That's the cpu with the H60 on it, so the pump must have died.

I have had more ******* problems with this rig than anything else I've ever owned. Now I have to RMA the H70...just a month after I RMAd the ram. Absolutely ridiculous.

I feel for you bud, all I've been doing is buying PSUs

Sorry to hear that dude.

Do you have any heatsinks you could use for the time being?

I have the extra Xigmatek from the original build, but I accidentally destroyed the threads on one of the screws while trying to get it off the board. I can't remember how it ever got stuck, but it's a miracle it even came off. Maybe I can find a similar screw to use for it...

I was going to use My old H50, but it mounts differently than the H60 and I don't feel like changing the entire mounting system right now. And the only reason I have a "spare" H50 is because my ASRock mobo on my main rig died last week.

When it rains it pours.

I swapped the H60 out for the Xigmatek (only using 3 screws instead of 4 but contact with the cpu and temps are fine). So I'm back up and folding...until the next catastrophe strikes.

My old Enermax Noisetaker almost died a fiery death. I heard the fan going (making odd noises). I got a new Corsair TX650. BTW, how much does an SR-2 cost?

The sr-2 will cost you 630 CAD,but the mobo is the cheap part.To make any sence, two 6-core xeons is needed and at 1000+ CAD each its a costly build to make. Two sets of tri-channel ram,two highend heatsinks and a decent psu too.Add also a case that will fit the mobo.

The Xeons only cost me $500 each (E5645s). And who needs a case? I fold naked

Holy crap heat wave in the UK or what, none of my rigs are folding as this room is already hitting 27c+, cant be doing with adding anymore heat

really need aircon but just got the leccy bill through yesterday, i know rates have gone up but the bill is £130 more than the last one

Ouch. The points/Watt is great though. I will be waiting for 2nd-gen LGA 2011 before I upgrade.

I was doing quite well afew weeks back but it'll be awhile yet before i catch him (thats if he doesnt start up again soon) as ive had to back off due to the mini heat wave we had + the

leccy bill i got.

At last I can get the hammer down with folding. My PC died but I have it back up and running. Re-seated the GPU a few times, reset jumper and it worked.

My Q9300 is running >70C load at stock speeds under a Zalman CNPS9700, I have to shut off SMP on that bad boy until I can figure it out (which won't be for a while, work just kicked it up so I can't sit down and troubleshoot stuff.) Down to the two GPUs Folding full time (and my wife's i5-750 + GTX275 Folding whenever her computer's on and she's not home.)

EDIT: Re-seated the heat sink, temps are better but not great. It was hard to get it latched, the latch is hanging on to maybe 1.5 millimeters of plastic on either side, I'm worried the heat sink is gonna fall and pulverize the top GPU, but it's cool enough to Fold full time again for sure. Overclocking (and a new cooler) is in its future.
