Those little annoying F@H things ..

I have come across a strange problem. Decided to install F@H v7 on my main rig (i7 2600K) to run whilst I give my folding rig a clean out. The problem is that after every work unit it completes it fails to d/l another giving an error in the log saying 10001: Server responded: HTTP_UNKNOWN. I have tried re installing the program several times, but again on completion of w/u the same error occurs. Now if I reboot my PC everything is hunky dory until the w/u completes. Any ideas anyone ?

Hey guys, got an issue with my V7 client. Get this warning in the FAH log:

19:20:41:WARNING:WU02:FS01:Detected clock skew, adjusting time estimates

What does that mean? And my smp client won't fold when that warning is there

Yup

But I think mine has something to do with my OC, My CPU shows 100% activity, but its not folding anything

Ah, I just had that too. Was it with a bout of 7645, 7646 & 7647 WUs? They didn't show progress for me yesterday so switched to Unicores and dropped the one suffering FX-8120 from 15k PPD (8013s) down to 5-7k PPD (8042s). Got 7645s folding on both FX-8120s now at 12k PPD a peice or 16k end result, so expecting a massive day tommorow! Or they may upload just before tommorow begins in EST.

On a side note, I noticed a 'Chronicle of the legion of doom fairies' or something like that, some insane name like that for the name of a library or part of a WU/ client software being loaded in the F@H log on my GT430 rig, thought it was quite funny that some Stanford developer would name a library that

lol, gotta love pets!

I just noticed that my work PC went from 3.2GHz back down to stock 2.4GHz, might of been one of our power outages awhile back. I was wondering why SMP was going so slow, I'll have to fix that on Monday!

Stares at SMP ......... Looks at clock speed ......... Oh ;]

Was a 8042 I think, seems to be working now

Its either my cpu is dead or Stanford hates me

Got a small 250k step WU. PPD on V7 is at 200, with an ETA of 2 days. Honestly don't know why its this slow, got a 4GHZ running on my 1090T

Reinstall v7 or see if GPU tracker is giving the same issue or not

Hmm, gonna give reinstall a try after this gpu WU is done.

And GPU tracker dosen't give me no WU's for some reason, its bugged I think

I am using V7,but my cpu doesn't want to play.

It isn't getting w/u's................the log states 10001: Server responded: HTTP_UNKNOWN.

That is odd. Have you tried to reinstall it?

YUP.

Have also tried removing then re-adding slots.

Even trying messing with my router firewall...............just in case it was blocking.

Noticed that my PPD dropped massively when running the 8013 project, cut down to 10 Cores, and now I see consistently higher PPD, seems like it throttles itself if I use max cores.

I had a BSOD a little while ago, I think things got a little warm as an houyr our so before the BSOD the ASUS monitor software poped up saying the CPU had slipped past 85c :s

Might be time ti give the dust filters a bit of a clean again.

Is that the workaround for that abominable unit?

How many threads do you have and how many threads have you cut down to on each particular machine? (I seem to remember running SMP-4 with an FX-8120 and it didn't improve performance at all for 8013).

8013 is barely better than full-house unicore.

I have a Hexacore, so 12 threads, now I am running 10 threads and it is consistently better..

I have to agree though, 8013 is utter crap..

(Talked to my dad about my new.. ... madness... . He just said: if u're gonna invest, u better order to me so u can save some money.(VAT deductable).. I love my dad..)
