Those little annoying F@H things ..

Got a weird thing going today, my rig has got a 7200 wu, its showing no PPD, no points but is folding. It's the first time i've got this. what could it be? Time esitmated completion time states 0d 5hr 09min and deadline shows 0d -5hr 00min. Have i gone past the deadline and whats going on with the PPD and points

Unless it's what was just mentioned then I'm afraid I have no idea.

Got my 8120 today and it's folding as we speak - this board is the latest revision with fully supported AM3+ bios yet the Faildozer is hovering between 8 and 12k PPD on a pants 8013 while my 1090 is churning out 22-39k from the same 8013 unit. Not looking good.

I did read that Faildozer is mainly fail because it's scheduler/ memory controller/ NB throws a hissy fit whever you use all cores in the same task so if nothing amounts of this little contraption running caseless next to my now other caseless rig, may try 8x unicores and see if that helps the scheduler out.

I had one of those a day or two ago, no points and that WU # shows as not exisiting after updating the lastest projects.....

Done two of these and no points at all

wasted hours on the wu's. I deleted the third one as it was the same, enabled -advmethods and finally got a 6099 wu

I just spent a good 3 days Folding a P8101 only for it to fail to upload and get deleted..

Omg I just folded a WU, and didn't get any points..

It was a T-shirt unit.. , should give Points, shouldn't it?

Ahwell.. Now.. to get that elusive 50th spot..

/D

Found out that, turning advmethods off gives me the 7200wu with no ppd and points at all, turning it on gives me massive wu that take ages to fold with low ppd

might see if i can overclock it but with this board, i doubt it o.O

I'm liking the small wu, can get a few done everyday

I much prefure the small WUs because if something goes wrong you dont lose as much compuational time and thus points.

The ones with a base 600 points are the best though. They give me the best PPD

Yeah same, prefer the small wu's. On main i get them frequently with advmethods off. But on folding rig, i cant turn it off or i'll the blank 7200 wu so i have to leave it off and do the 1583 base point wu that take ages

Are you using the V7 clinet? I tend to get the smaller ones most often on the V7 client running client-type advance in the slot options.

I'm running GPU Tracker because it mostly gives me wu with 1593 base points which take 1 day 8 hours to complete. I tried V7 yesterday and got a 7610 wu with 788 base points which showed proffered deadline over just 8 days. It took over 30mins to get 1% done. I configured the basics like name and passkey. Maybe my configuration was wrong

On the main window of V7, change the top right selection box to expert.

Then when you goto configure you can select the slots tab. From there edit the SMP slot, at the very bottom there is a space for extra slot options. Add a new one, in the top input put client-type and the bottom put advanced

From there save the settings. Hopefully the next time it downloads a WU it will be a smaller one.

I have put them in and saved them. Is there a way to delete the existing one to get a new WU and see what i get?

You can delete the WU data, but depending on how you installed the V7 clinet will determin where the WU data is stored. On my install for ease I change the path for the data folder to be in the folding @ home folder within probram files.

The other option would be to add a second slot for SMP, making sure its set up properly including the client type and deleteing the original slot, so you still only have a single slot active.

2 hours till the WU is done, then i'll be able to see if i get the small one

The wife plugged in a 1500 watt hair dryer into a circuit that had 3 folding machines on it, so popped circuit breacker and 3 machine not restarted for 6 hours....
