The orange box

That thing is damn big mate :p
What are your temps like? I might build a 100% silent pc
(SSD's, no opticals, passive cooling, etc.) :3
Stock: ± 15-19 °C on all cores
@ 4.2 GHz: just a tad higher: ± 23-27 °C (didn't run prime yet, but it's only being used as a bedroom PC atm :p)

I put some back-up fans in the case though, which will be enabled by a fan controller at 45°C (I know it's a low temp, but they didn't turn on yet ;) )

I have a feeling that BesiX is hiding his rig and obviously doesn't appreciate the engineering masterpiece a silent rig like that is. :P

The only thing I wanted to do with that passive PC is "get a better one than the shitty one Tom had in his reviews" ;) I can even play BF3 on the passive PC ;)

Yeah, and I think you beat him. I am not surprised that thing can play BF3... BF3 doesn't heat up the CPU as hard as Prime95 does. I know someone that used a fan less NH-D14 on a stock 3570k and under prime it didn't go much above 80, so this one is specially intended to be fan less and perform well without so much help. BF3 wouldn't even matter on it.

hi folks,
not loving the build so far so have broken everything down to reassemble I hope in a much neater format for such a small space !

I have now removed the CD housing as I dont really need it, and am now researching to re-seat the mobo front facing on the other side door pane with the window showing more on whats going on inside.

I now have the window to go in the top, I have black rivets that will attache this in on one side and may install another Xigmatech 120mm fan. The PSU housing will also be removed.

Re masking will be done and the grey/silver finish will now be a white pearlescent lacquered affair.

So everything out !!! :p

Awwh man, you just put it all together... White sounds better than grey but make sure you get it right this time :P . Looking forward to seeing the next stage of your re-make.

cheers bud, its the right way to go I just wasn't feeling it !
Pearlescent Paint has literally just arrived too. :)

Hi Guys and gals,

Just a couple of little updates as you can see I was not happy with the first attempt of my Rig Build with all the kit inside for me it was just a bit too messy, so taking a few ideas from other builds going on I have decided to move the mobo to the back side panel and see if I can create a neater rig inside !!

From the pics you can see on the first attempt left no space for the GPU to fit !!!!
The MOBO and PSU was just too close together, so I have repositioned the mobo higher to accommodate PSU and GPU :)

I am now happy with the position BUT now have redundant dead spaces on the rear of the rig, it is just a complete mess, to fix this I will cut out the dead space on the rear of the rig and replace this with Orange Acrylic that I will cut in to make the rear much neater and also cut out the area for the GPU, reposition the and drill a formation of holes so that the H80i can exhaust.

All a bit untidy at the moment but don't forget this is still a work in progress :p
