The orange box

I have some of those xigmatek fans in my rig - they look awesome. Although the 200mm one in the front can be a little bit growly.

If you put the window so you can see your gpu in all its glory, how do you think the temps will be effected? Also if you have it on that side the USB3 header should fit easily. I've seen other builds with this board and the Prodigy and they have complained about getting it to fit with the stock config.

Hey Sheroo,

Yeah very happy with the fans, I have x2 120s in the front and x2 140 with an H80i push pull config, I am not sure how the temps will be at this point so I have to test a few things to be honest.

I need to start building to see what obstacles I need to get over I think !!

I am not sure how the H80i will perform, I hope good?, failing that I have a dirty great big Phanteks PH-TC14PE CPU Cooler to try instead but will fill up the window space :p

I am having a window made for the roof a one off hand cut and riveted by the chaps from KUSTOMPC which will be consistent with the side panel :D

Sounds cool. Wish I had a reason and some funds to do a Prodigy build - yours will have to serve as my surrogate.:)

 Cheers GD........ And I shall do you proud Sheroo !!

Next steps now will be priming all the innards from black to a silver chrome with a bit of a lacquered finish, the inside view through the window is too BLAAAAAAACCCKKKK !

So I am going to lighten the insides up start hopefully very soon when I get some time, will share pics along the way !! :)

cheers dude, hunted high and low for this RAM spec but all out of stock in the UK, came from GERMANY in the end but all good. :)

your doing a stellar job picking parts for this mate, i only wish that motherboard came in black/orange instead! :p this log has me genuinely temped to do a black/blue build in a black case with that mb myself when i finish my current project

planning to sleeve the cabling??

thanks Choklitmilk,

I would love to have this mobo in washes of ORANGE, I have seen some excellent mobos setup this way but not in miniITX format. Really enjoying this build I cant wait to get stuck into it, as I will be spraying and lacquering up the inside of this case just to lift it a little.

I have sourced orange bradied cables they are on there way :)

check out the pic on the previous page of the orange coiled cable on my PSU I trialled it just to see what it looks like and I quite like it, I have a fatter orange coil on the way for the other cable just to finish the job, so you will see differentiation between PSU cables and component cables, hopfully it will look good ! :p

yea i saw that, surprised to say it looks not bad, but will depend on the cables being routed correctly and their lengths i think

Glad you were able to find what you were looking for! Personally not the hugest fan of the G.Skill ripjaws/sniper type stuff as I don't really care for run or knife designs on computer hardware but the stuff you got is quite a bit more low key and the metallic is quite nice looking :)

 well thank you Andre :) this RAM was a bitch to find and as they say RAM is RAM is RAM ! For me this is all about aesthetics it could not have been anything else ! I could have whipped out some Platinum SHINNIES from my White Elephant Rig but its gotta be ORANGE !

Just reading through your rig build at the moment awesome kit, not finished yet though as reading it from the top, I love the MSI board I did consider one of these married with an MSI680 Lightning.

infact some of the kit you are playing with at the moment like the Kingston Hyper X great kit !

I agree as long as the specs are similar with ram as with other things too there are plenty of good choices so just pick the one you like the look of the most for what you will be using it for.

Thank you for looking at my log! Same here I really like the look of the MSI board and the lighting cards but I like the look of the Twin frozr 3 GPUs a little bit more so I went with one of those instead.

The kingston X stuff is lovely I love the look of it but that is actually triple channel stuff that was just in there for a short time and it is now in my sisters computer because she is using the X58 board and CPU now. I had a few different sets of ram in there temporarily, but the stuff I ended up picking for long term use is the Patriot Viper Xtreme stuff which I think is just drop dead gorgeous and it has such a high quality feel to it.

You can see the post with lots of pictures of it here if you want: http://forum.overclock3d.net/showpost.php?p=577268&postcount=48

Christmas Eve Update

Hey Guys and Gals and Merry Christmas Eve,

Been a little while since an update but received a couple of bits today so thought now is as good a time as any :p

Got my CPU today a 3570K and a mesh front face for my Bitfenix Prodigy case just to help airflow in such a small space as the original front panel is solid.

I have also changed the colour of the inside of the case from black to silver, with the window and lighting that I have planned this will help give things a bit more of a glow inside. I am still trying a few things to see what works and looks best though.

Fitted the mother board and H80i today and will hopefully do a bit more tomorrow such as the PSU and the cabling, there really is not a lot of room to play with but it really is a great challenge making the best of what little space you do have :)

A few pics to share as always.

KANEY:)

Can I just add the H80i doesn't actually fit properly on the rear of the case with this configuration, it is slightly too tall to fit into the pre drilled holes on the rear of this case, but just a slight modification and now it all screws in just fine. Just something to point out to anyone out there who fancies an imminent Prodigy case build with an H80i. :p

hi Ru5ty,

Its pretty much a plain window, it has been riveted onto a beveled 5mm acrylic window all very nice !! :)

get more done later this week.

I really really like this build. It looks amazing and orange is an interesting colour scheme (been wanting to do an orange build myself) :3

But.... Dare I say it? I just have to say it...
Even though the Asus board maybe a tad better I think this build would have looked a *lot* better with an EVGA Z77 Stinger, I really don't like the blue board in an orange build (which has mainly black accents). :(

Totally Feronix I hear yah !

but that isn't a mini ITX board the Stinger is an extended ATX and wouldn't fit in this usual placement within a Prodigy Case. Everything in this build is considered and ORANGE apart from the mobo, which does pain me a little however my choice of the Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe is one of the best if not the best at the moment Mobo around especially for mini ITX OC'ing.

I must admit There didn't seem to be a great choice for Mini ITX mobos when I purchased this especially ones with splashes of Orange, I shall keep looking but for now this is it.

I think the GUVNOR on one of his previous builds did replace all of his PCIE and other connectors on a MOBO to bring it in line with his colour scheme maybe that could be an option but at this time 'This is my MOBO' there are others like it, but this is mine.......' and it really is a very small beast ;) !!

Always searching :p
