The OC3D hopefully before 2017 Competition System

Hi this is a very nice build with nice custom modification. But for this simple build was used too big casee mean if this is finished build is still plenty of unused space what doesn't look good to me.

The plus of the unused room is you can do very nice hard tubing custom loop! White or red? Or red CPU loop and white GPU? With nice two reservoirs and two 360 radiators what can be also white paited?

So this RIG is very nice with plenty options for upgrates. But is look like not finished protect in this case. Rebuild it in to the smaller case and will looks awesome before those moded parts look really good!!

Happy New year to everyone!!

It would be awesome to but a mirror under GPU so You could see MSI whiteish GPU face more easily maybe under slight angle so when You will look on mirror over PSU shroud You will see beautiful GPU ;) maybe next time You will do some mirroring stuff as it is looks amazing ... good job !!!!

If you win you could always mod that in yourself.

I disagree on his views on optical drives, but there is no doubt he can build a damn good looking system.
I don't have dedicated DVD player or TV of my own, and family ones are often inaccessible due to other people using it.
Discs are still our primary movie source in this house.

I've imagined it. :D That light on full rig picture kinda tricked me. And i know Tom was planing custom TG panel. Sorry. I've been drunk for the past few days. :D Happy New year. :D

The video for the contest shows it with the clear panel attached, can find it as one the entries on the gleam widget.
Though as expected it doesn't look much different than it without.
And that isn't a bad thing IMO.
Doesn't take away from the work inside it.

That case is begging for a watercooled system.

Then that would be an option for the lucky winner later maybe.
Myself, I would be happy with the performance first.
Additional storage is the only upgrade I could see me doing soon, and that is only because I already have it.

Sigh...

I've already seen several "giveaway" sites that has this comp linked but with their own specific gleam referral link.

That way the person who created the giveaway on those sites will get hundred upon hundreds (if not even thousands who knows) of extra referral entries.

That definitely feels like cheating. I don't blame them for trying to cheat the system. But its low.. Makes me wish Tom would just remove them from the comp. Bleh.

EDIT: Hey Tom, here's an idea. Why not limit the number of referrals one can have to a smaller number to circumvent this kind of behavior? Just an idea. It makes it more fair. =)

I do agree that referrals tend to favour those with social media followings.
In another contest I tried a referral link, and ended up with a total of 2 people using it.
Though that was more due to the registration requirement on the site.
Though at least in that contest, should a referee win then so does the person who's link they used.

In this case being just the one prize, it should not be an option.
Unless registration here is also a requirement, as that would somewhat reduce the effectiveness of that technique.

Love the change to a clear window, and whilst i've never been big on MSI (the wife is though) that is damn sexy looking.

If I won she'd be the one getting it, it would properly make her day!

I think I've been able to get at least 10 people to sign up through facebook. But whats the point in even trying when you know someone will get potentially 40x more entries than most people because they have used other sites to spread their own personal referral link. And the people signing up from those sites have no idea that that person is using them for his/her own gain. Some people really need a rig like this. Personally I'd be happy with just affording to buy a new graphics card like a 1060 so I could finally let my 660 die in peace. My i5 is still not bad. It just makes me sick the way some people are behaving.

Red and white, looks right

Got to say, I've always been a fan of red and white.. recently did my mountain bike in those colours.. And always thought of wanting to build a stunning red and white system - but you beat me too it ;(

If nobody entered simply because someone had a much bigger chance, then they would always win.
In the end, that is exactly what the referral system is designed to do.
It is designed to encourage and reward actively advertising the giveaway, and therefore the brand or whatever else they are trying to increase awareness of.
Whether we like it or not.

They are just utilising it better than we can.
Same as someone either with fewer social media accounts, or even none at all will utilise theirs less than someone else.

I don't have a mobile phone at the moment, so I can't compete with equal number of entries on those utilising snapchat, or instagram for instance.
But it does not stop me trying.

No need to worry about stuff from that. Its easy for us to see where traffic comes from and what link is sending them.

Its not a new thing ;)
