The Incredibly Thirsty Hulk

Noob question, what are the green buttons at the front of the case? are they power and reset or am i just a moron? ;D

they're for controlling the LED's in my case :) i turn them off when i go to sleep because they're so bright. also allows me to switch between white and UV whenever i please :P

Ahhh, well the rig looks top you have actually helped me to decide that the 650D will be my next case once i get enough money for ivy + GTX 680 + watercooling parts :D

looking good mate...
well done!

thanks mate! :)

glad I could help!

just a heads up if you're somewhat OCD like I am, keep a microfibre cloth on your desk when working with the case. if you leave fingerprints on the side panels they'll eventually "stain" and you wont be able to clean it off later on.

I think it looks nice as it is. What CF's are you going to be using? Bitspower? Aesthetically I think the difference won't be massive, but I don't know what others think.

Looks really nice mate!I really like green themed rigs(reminds me of my "H2o Green Raven" build. If I got bored of my current setup I may switch to green, but I think that before that I may try to make it full black/white

I think that really is up to personal preference - less of what we like, more of what you like.
I for one favour compression fittings, as I think they look nicer - Tom on the other hand vouches heavily for barbs :)
Either way, your rig looks awesome, and that's not going to be changed by the type of fittings you use!

would be the same black ones i have for the rest of my rig :) i dont think that the change in aesthetics would merit the work i would have to go through just to change them though...complete drain the top section of my loop and then redo the leak testing...hahaha

thanks! and a full black/white rig would look awesome! if i was not such a fan of green, that's probably what i would have gone for as well :D

thanks mate! probably won't be changing them out, but i just wanted to know what you guys thought about it. i kind of like the simplistic look of the reservoir at the moment :)

And talking about fittings:)
I will be switching to them when they become available:)

Also CF for me looks way better than barbs:)But we all know that at least one person have different opinion about it:)

sorry for the late reply, but i've been pretty busy these past few days. i had looked at these before ordering my parts and thought that it'd be cool to see the green coolant through the compression rings. the more i thought about it though, i figured the tubing would be tightened against the barb too much to even show the coolant, and instead just expose the barb portion.

not sure if you had thought about that, but for me, that was the dealbreaker over the bitspower fittings :) hope that helps. otherwise, they're still awesome looking compression fittings :D

Update!

This looks amazing. I love the green tubing with the purple UV light. Again, very subtle and great looking to me.

Really nice the colors you used on the rig.
Great work ! That rig kick ass like hulk!

thanks guys!

just and update to my rig because i came across a problem other water coolers may want to know about...

my initial setup was using clear tygon tubing with mayhems uv green dye and biocide solution. over time, the tubing started to grow yellow and was very unappealing. i ordered primochill tubing to replace the tygon and see how this tubing will compare in the long run. as a side note, the colour of the actual coolant had not changed, as the reservoir still looked as amazing as it did since day 1. this is how i came to the conclusion that the tubing was the problem...

here are some pictures taken roughly 3~4 months after i finished this build:

drained the loop, some green coolant leftover in the tube between cpu block and top rad

what the tubing looked like without any coolant in it.

i also added a second white LED at the top because everything on the left of the ram sticks werent being lit up very well:

tubing replaced.

here's V2 of the gpu block picture with the new tubing

anyways, hope you guys enjoyed this and found it useful for your future water cooling plans. i'm not saying to stay away from tygon tubing nor mayhem's dyes, but merely showing you what to expect if you plan to use both together.

cheers!
