The Duke

WOOP

It's all built and running - installed Vista with only a few hitches (most of which have been rectified now)

Once all the drivers etc had been installed the first thing I did was run a 3DMark06 test...and I was pleasantly surprised!

10955 !!!!!! =D =D

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=4040603

I had set myself a target of 10k points before the build and to achieve that score with zero overclocking or tweaking I am over the moon.

As I mentioned above, there are a few issues but I'll address them one by one over the coming days.

I'll put some pictures up as soon as I get round to installing the drivers for my phone

@ Duke - Nice job there mate, cracking scores too!

@ Deshman - Block order in a loop has a negligable affect on temps. Whenever plumbing in a loop I always opt for the post straightforward from a plumbing perspective...the less pipe in the loop the less water in the loop...hence the water will pass through the radiator more regularly... my setup is PUMP>GPU1>GPU2>RAD>RES>PUMP ... Swings and roundabouts tbh.

Heh I suppose you could also look at it from that angle. You'd have to test it to really know but I've still got my money on CPU>GPU :p

This has been tested to the nth level, as I say....keep the plumbing nice n tidy with pipe runs to min length and it will affect temps more than block order.

Duke - I work in Cardiff Gate Business park, where's my rig inspection invite LOL.

Fair enough man.

Lol straight to the point :p

LOL you're more than welcome to come pay a visit if you so desire! (so long as you are not one of these rapist types)

OK finally I've got my arse in gear and got some pics. Excuse the cable management (or lack of) but it's something that will get sorted eventually.

Next steps are to tidy the insides up as mentioned above which could prove to take a lot longer than expected. Also I need to actually overclock the thing. At the moment the CPU idles at sub 20oC and the GPU at about 30oC. Under load these both raise by 10-15oC MAX so there will be lots of clocking potential there. I may need some help with the technical aspects of doing it though as I've never put a lot of time into OCing before and I want this one done right!

Aside from that, gonna buy two of these (http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.aspx?sku=342254) monitors eventually and maybe a Logitech keyboard and a new mouse (current one razer diamondback glows red and doesn't fit the blue scheme)

lol....clean as a whistle mate!

the rig is looking good..

just a question...

Why bother with the UV lights when you aint really running anything the glows inside? thought about changing the coolant to uv green or anything???

and im about to set up my own wc'ed rig soon. How did you find the building of it it and would you ever go back to a normal air cooled computer?

Cheers

Actually the hoses are UV reactive, as well as the FluidXP+ coolant.

Now that I'm running a WC system, no I wouldn't go back. (for a gaming rig anyway)

Heh that fluid is awesome, see through light blue then you turn on the UVs and it becomes that solid colour you see in the pic.

CPU is the hottest thing not really the GPU, thats why GPU overclocks can pass with a crappy little stocker cooler but CPU overclocks need enourmous heatsinks.

As far as air is concerned anyway.

And as far as common sense tells me lol.

If im wrong ill eat my hat.

and change my name to "man"

Well it all depends on your CPU and GPU but in my case I can guarantee you my GTX chucks out more heat than my 4000 chip :p

In Duke's case it'll be the beasty 6400 chip which is hottest as he's running one of the new GT's which run extraordinarily cool for what they are.

Thinking about it now I guess the order would be different for every person, every rig.

I think overall the CPU would make the wat er hotter, since it seems to run cooler then the GPU in water indicating that more heat is going into the water.

Thats my way of thinking anyway.

Hmm.. i think some rugs and maybe some device to hide the curtains. Then it would be DA BOMB...

I am a massive armor fan.

Wow! 3 years on and it's still going strong!

Now I'll put my hands up and admit I have been neglecting to maintain the PC as much as it deserves. I did a well overdue full rebuild over the weekend and after leak testing got it all back together and tidied it up.

Still running exactly the same spec with no big issues really

Anyway, I realised the other day I haven't posted on here in a while and even more of a travesty, there aren't any completed rig photos up! I took the liberty of taking a few last night for completeness sake

I have some UV cathodes in there which make the Feser fluid glow a satisfying blue colour and some LEDs in the pump and reservoir but I need to check the circuit because they aren't lighting up!
