This is a test :yumyum:

Well not quite ... I have just enroled and tried to make a member search for someone particular, and this is what comes up:

Cov(enant), you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?

2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

So I don't really get why I'm not allowed to use the search function while I can start a thread and do postings and stuff.

Hmmmm, strange.

Hi there,

I think its to stop bots harvesting emails addresses and such.

My advice is get posting - not spamming, posting. Oh, the off topic section doesn't count to your post count.

Who were you after?

Make an introduction thread.

A rig thread.

If you have upgrade questions etc.

If you game, join the gaming group (in your user CP) and post there.

etc etc

Hi there, ...

Thank you very much for the prompt reply !! :wavey: ... (<-- I like that :))

Well, I browse around a lot, always researching around. Gosh, the internet is so overwhelming with information. It seems to distinguish between useful and useless / obstructing information is the skill to learn.

Well, at the moment I'm still trying to make my mind up regarding a few computer components, and it's really hard though.

For example the graphics card GeForce 8800 GT or the 9600 GT ?

All info I have found is not really conclusive but that's another story ... still to be solved (might be never solved eh ?).

Another problem is to find where to order from. Since I'm in the UK it wouldn't be smart to order from abroad I think. So there are a few main online retailers here. One of them is overclockers.co.uk ... well, sorry to mention this here but it looks like a sad story. I tried to find some kind of retailer-review and thanks to google i found ciao! and another site (have forgotten the name) and from there I was lead further until I ended up at overclock3d ... someone had opened a thread, dedicated only for complaints about overclockers.co.uk ... and there seem to be a lot of them.

Well, I remember the name of one of the people who described his bad experience with them. Now trying to find his posting I thought I search for his name in "members list" ... his name is "Heed".

Oh, by the way ... this is how I got to know this forum and I felt comfortable enough to register straight away, haha ... see where a little bit using google can lead to :)

Make a thread if you need any help, as Pseudonym said you won't get a post count in off-topic.. And it's 20 posts afaik to use the PM system and view other members profiles.

I had a look on his profile for you.

As for OCUK. The general consensus seems to be, they give you cheap parts in return for cheap customer service skills. Sometimes you get lucky with parts that are fine or even with a staff member who knows an arse from an elbow, but a lot of people don't.

Sometimes it's worth buying the knowledge that should the worst happen to Judy Dench, then her family, oh wait. if the worst happens to your parts even, then you will get them replaced with shipping etc paid for.
