problem with mach ll in combination with asus a8nsli. The problem is that after pushing the power button the mach ll start running but after at -33 degrees the computer would not start up. I need to start the computer itself. When everything is running it would not shut down, I need to switch of the power suply from the comp, then and only then the mach ll wil shut down.

Firmaware mach ll is the latest bios asus is the latest, procesor is an amd 3500 (newcastle).

Please help?

When I put on the psu in the computer the computer starts to boot. All the cables are connected, I even tested the molex.

You made sure all the wires are connected, including the Molex? Made sure the psu is switched on in the computer?

I had this and I can't remember how I fixed it. :(

Have you tried booting it up (by switching on the PSU as it reaches boot temperature) and reloading the firmware (821)?

That is what I do normal, when reaching boot temp I switch on the psu. However I hope to solve that , I will reload the firmware and see what will happen

Thanks

yes this is the thread i was looking for! i have just changed my controller over to the GT controller, i have done many tests this evening, and the only way i have managed toget my pc to turn on was to wait for the 2nd orange light to turn on and then put a screw driver across the pins on the motherboard! i even used a multimeter to test whether the GT was allowing a current to flow through it when the unit reached cooling temp, and it did... (?) so why isnt my pc responding to the GT controller when it allows it to turn on....

Okay lets see: Firstly make sure the motherboard isnt shorting out on the tray.

After that, make sure everything is connected. The molex from the Mach II to the psu; the yellow wire and blue/white wires. Make sure you havent connected the yellow and blue/white the wrong way round. (especially as you have just replaced the board).

Make sure the two panaflo fans are properly connected and the compressor isnt overheating. If all is correct, then attempt to flash the firmware providing of course you have configured the USB cable correctly.

yeah, infact, i never disconnected the cables on the pc side of the controller, just disconnected them off of the controller to fit the new one. my pc and mach 2 are running fine at the moment! nothing apears to be wrong with the mach 2, and nothing wrong with the motherboard. i have a perspex case, so nothing to short out onto! i used a multi-meter to check that the yellow cable was allowing a current to pass when it was upto temp, which it did. so i dont understand my the motherboard isnt turning on. it works directly off the button - i did a quick test and then turned the pc off, and it works by shorting the pins with a screw driver to allow a current to pass. :| tonight i'll hook the usb back up, i found the link that shows which pins need to goto the controller, cant remember the order without looking at the cable itself. im really stumped to why it wont turn on.

This could be the reboot loop that I've seen before. If you cant flash the firmware (*which will fix it) you need to power down/up in a particular way. I cant remember what it is off the top of my head, but its something to do with powering the psu down via the switch at the back whilst the pc is still powered on.

phil got one slight problem with that ... the switch on the Ryanpower 2 has decided it doesnt want to go into off mode, it jus springs back to on :S umm, seeing as the psu works fine i might replace the switch from my old PSU. Umm yeah i have managed to make up a usb cable, at the motherboard end its on the standard double internal molex, and splits into 2 cables at the other end, so i can just plug one of them onto the controller. i'll plug it in tonight and flash the controller. which firmware should i use, and software too?

there was a program with the mach controller centre, called bootloader. BTW, in the mach II controller i am only getting the Evap temp, which is saying -55. Now, i am using an Abit KV8 Pro board. which uses some weird technology for getting the cpu temp. beleive me its dodgy as fook as its telling me that my cpu temp is between 15 and 25 degree's C, and the thing can't read below 0. Now there is also something in my pc's bios which is called CPU thermal throttling, what exactly does this do? i've disabled it for now.

-update-

have just flashed the controller, will now plug in the cable to the power on/off pins on the motherboard and see if it works properly now

-update-

Connected the cable to the power on/off on the motherboard and all works fine now. the pc is now turning on when the controller is down to temp :)
