Stand off thread size.

I'm trying to figure out how to mount a piece of acrylic, to the front of my case. I have removed the drive bays, but in order to mount the panel, I need to get the front panel flush. At the moment, there are the indents for the fans, and a lip for the drive bay. My solution is to mount the front panel to the case, with mother board stand offs, they are the perfect size, height I need for a nice and flush panel. But what size are the threads, that I need to tap out ? All the info points towards 6 - 32, but what size is that in normal metric. Cheers guys.

M3, 6-32 and M4. 6-32 is close to M4 and the M4 being larger in hole size.
there are different heights to consider also. I browse eBay for different styles and
sizes.

Cheers mate, I've got the stand offs here and they are mm perfect. So I suppose I'd be better off, using an M3, tap. I've also just found some 4mm rubber washers, they look like the nuts you get with water blocks. They have a larger outer ring, and the smaller inner ring, actually goes into the hole. I'm thinking they might be a better option.
