[Staff Project] NZXSPC

What a fantastic start.......nice one G-Dubs, looking forward to watching your progress.

On a side note, these type of builds always seem to attract a few slightly negative posts (believe me i’ve had plenty lol) which i’ve learnt is just part of the territory of doing a forum project log and the main thing is to have fun and enjoy the ride.

Good luck and keep the pictures and updates coming

I think this is just something a bit different from us, its something more accessible. Fair dos its not a £5000 dreeam pc.... Its the type of rig a much larger proportion of you could build and afford yourself.

The whole point in this is to show what you can do with the case & cooling and just use some hardware thats not top of the pile!

(this is going to be Garys main rig when its finished)

I don't see the point tbh, Why not just buy an alienware ? they have stock watercooling...

JK, really looking forward to this "staffbuild", kinda has to be perfect now...

That's true!

I would be happy with half the greatness of this rig!

I think, more than that, people will be very very suprised at what this rig will be able to do when it's finished. And as someone has already mentioned, some stores are slashing the 570 prices, which leaves cash in the bank for coolage. Let's see what 1 is capable of.

Many people are still maxing games with an oc'd 480, the 570 is more or less the same thing with less memory.

Benchies baby.

Quieter and cooler too! I think this will be an epic rig and show you dont need a massive wallet to get big scores AND also have a rig you would want to show off.

Has the ingredients for greatness!

The 570 is a wonderful card, I have it and it maxes everything I throw at it including bf3 and I'm still able to get respectable framerates at 1920x1080.

Looking forward to seeing the end result, wasn't much fan of the 410 but the gunmetal grey looks right.

Thanks for all the feedback and support so far guys. This thread certainly seems to have gotten people thinking and talking.

At OC3D we like to show all aspects of hardware and modding, not just the esoteric highend that we all aspire to.

For my part I am grateful for the confidence Tom has placed in me, for the opportunity to have this log presented on the front page of the website, and for the opportunity to show what can be done with real world specs at more real world prices.

This build when finished will be my everyday PC and It will, i'm sure, be able to cope with anything I throw at it. Not only that, but the choice of components, from the Z77 mobo to the single 570 GPU also offer upgrade potential in the future.

I'm currently working on the strip down of the case and will be getting the dremel out in the very near future.

I don't get why anyone would be negative about a build. Sometimes it's not the hardware specs that count, sometimes it's how a build all comes together and each part compliments another. There's more to modding and pc building than just throwing down tons of cash on hardware. Anyone can put money down and have a top of the line rig, but not everyone can build a solid all around build.

Sounds and looks like it will be an interesting build. Love the Ex radiators have the 360 and was pleasently surprised with the performance considering the thickness, ( or lack of).

Really happy that the parts are not all top end like some of toms builds, but unfortunately have one mortgage and couldn't afford another for some of his builds. bank probably wouldn't lend anyway.

Eager for the benchmarks. Bang for buck!

Mentioning BF3, I'm very keen to see the 570 oc'd under the water coolage. Just had a rip on it's little brother, the 480 @ a modest 785 oc on air, on BF3 1920x1200 maxxed - maintaining a smokingly toasty .. 71 degrees...

Two water cooling mods of the 410 phantom, just before i buy mine and start thinking about water cooling it. Perfect timing!!! Less chance i will mess it up if i decide to go through with it.

Looking forward to seeing this progress. I like seeing builds like this more than builds where someone has just bought top of the range everything and just thrown it together.

Great Build Going on Here...

Just upgraded from my GTS 450 to the GTX 570 after the price drop. My Bank is very large so i have to keep a more moderate aproach to buying graphics cards
