Spreading Thermal Compound

Hey guys,

Couple of questions.

1. What is the best method of spreading? Just a simple dot in the centre and smush the cooler on top with a bit of twisting?

2. How good is the thermal compound that comes with the NH-D14? As good as arctic silver 5?

1. dont twist - it will spread itself

2. the TIM that comes with the D14 is better than AS5

1. Just put a small pea sized amount on the center of your CPU then as you screw your heatsink down it will spread it for you.

There are different methods though but the pea sized blob is one of the easiest. Check out this vid.

2. The stuff that comes with the D14, NT-H1, is good stuff it's as good as Artic Silver 5, MX-3 etc, i've tried all the usual thermal pastes and the Noctua stuff is just as good.
