btw ive used that mobo for 9 months (till around 2 months ago) and never had a problem with it

EDIT: i forgot a OS but 64 bit vista home basic is around £65 premium £75

how many slots in the mobo? will it play with 8gb of ram? or shall I tell her 8gb isnt really necessay (which is my opinion)

2GB will work find for Sims 3. 'tis what I run at.

Buying 4GB will be a bit meaningless as the PC would be running at 32bit Windows?

3GB would be perfect.

with a 64 bit vista total to what i put up will be 465 with basic or 475 with premium

For £450, if u don't want to mess about and have limited personal liability for the future, u could get one of these:

http://www.meshcomputers.com/Default.aspx?PAGE=PRODUCTVIEWPAGE&USG=PRODUCT&ENT=PRODUCT&KEY=576292

(untick the silly added stuff in the boxes and it comes to £449)

U could buy a 1tb urself and switch it out for the one inside (what are they, just under £50?). Thing being then u would have the original drive in an original state also. Or clone the thing onto the 1tb drive or summit.

Limited choices of upgrading. But to be fair, Sims 3 ?? - not exactly demanding, and all the pc would possibly want in the future could be a gfxcard.
