Something under shoggy?

I'm soon going to decouple my pumps with shoggy sandwich to decrease vibration noise.

However my undersanding is if I use the built in glue then the shoggy will permanently be stuck to the case, as I may want to eventually put pump elsewhere or other PC case I was considering putting something below shoggy so I can easily remove it.

I was considering this: Pump above Shoggy, glue something below shoggy so it is not attached permanently to case?

Maybe put a sponge below shoggy to even further eliminate noise, or maybe have soome plate below it?

When I wanted to isolate my pump from my case I looked around as you have done for a solution and I came across a similar product to the one you have found but it was in my opinion too big. I didn't want my (visible) pump sitting on a block of foam like that. So I looked around the hardware stores for something that would work but be much thinner and I came across something that works perfectly.

No nails tape. It's about 3mm thick you can get a whole roll of it from any supermarket for about £3 and it lasts forever. I cut 4 small squares of it (each one about the size of a match head) and stuck them under the pump. The tape is double sided and feels a lot like rubber but it's just very thick and strong tape. This completely isolated the pump from the case and there are no vibrations at all. The best bit is, it isn't sticking my pump high up and it is barely noticeable that it is being isolated from the case in any way. As I used only four very small pieces it is easy to remove the pump but it wont move on its own.

Hope this helped.
