Yup blocks are expensive but usually for a reason. They are a massive slab of copper, and copper ain't cheap. I initially started that rig (the big old butch one) with just the CPU. I got a Watercool HTSF2 for £35 on clearance from OCUK.
I had the fans already from another project.
I got the block used for £22 on Ebay. Was full of bloody orange powder looked like rust, but cleaned up well.
Fittings in packs of four for £13.99 IIRC.
Hose was about a tenner. IIRC the total spend was £130 or so, £10 more than a half decent AIO.
The GPU block was found on Gumtree, and was 300ft from my front door lmao. I got that for £35 for the block and back plate.
So yeah, it is doable.

That is the same block I am using on my GTX 950 and trust me, it does the business.
It took me over an hour to make it break 40c. And that is clocked to buggery. Just get some stick on sinks for your VRAM.

It depends on the design of the card. I would need to look it up, but if it has a mid plate that is more than enough cooling for the VRMs providing they get some air flow.
I just checked, no mid plate. Which would mean you would have to basically either make your own VRM cooler (from a strip of finned alu from Ebay) or try and find one.
In future I strongly recommend buying stock GPUs. They have more than adequate VRMs these days. They're also ten times easier to find blocks for.
Mind you it's not a bad card or cooler, so I would start at the CPU. Adding a GPU is just a few more fittings and some hose tbh. Well, unless you decide to stuff two full loops in like I did. But I mainly did that because it was cheap. I got the res/pump combo for about £23 on Ebay. I just should have checked the bloody pump wires first :S

And most notably.
There is already one on there from the look of it. That leaves just the memory, which is piddle. You will need to measure your socket mounting holes though (from corner to corner) because they look pretty far apart.

was planning to do CPU only, already have the rad as using an Antec AIO atm. I just like the look of clear pipes and a res as my case had a clear side panel

It's totally a fake Bitspower lol. But I had one, in my hands, and I am telling you it was every bit as solid as the real Bitspower res I have. The brackets weren't quite as sturdy but yeah, this is the res of choice on the SC600 looking around the net.

He has it hooked up wrong. Either he needs an anti cyclone piece or you feed it from the bottom and out of the bottom.
Upside down and without anticyclone. He will never bleed it like that. There will be micro bubbles sucked through all the time.

Ive never had a cyclone issue before and I've always run in at the top, out on the bottom with no sort of baffle in the res.. What actually causes it?

Are you sure you don't have an anti cyclone piece inside the res? Or a diffuser piece?
Mine has this.
Inlet tube (making the coolant go into the coolant without splashing etc) and also on the bottom a diffuser.
But you have a tube inside the res running down into the water. This guy in the vid has the pump pushing up into the res at full throttle with no anti cyclone or sponge. its just poorly done and noisy, unless you like the sound of bubbling water.
Saying that, my new res coming is intentionally made to create an effect so i won't use any diffusion either. Look forward to testing it, just a shame i might have to change my coolant after 5 years

I always thought that tube was to stop the irritating running water noise :lol:
My res doesn't have a bit like that at the bottom though.
