that's impressive but pointless. only place it would get used would be a server and they usually need more then one drive for backups

I can tell you now for free that 37.5TB is way overkill for me, and possibly many users. As Kemp stated earlier, I too believe that the commercial sector will gain from the storage. Meh, I just want faster drives

After I finally get around to rebuilding my main rig I'm thinking about slapping in a SCSI card and picking up a pair of 74gb Cheetahs, and RAID 0'ing em for some uber performance.

That's the bea in my bonnet. The only use for one of those drives would be for server purposes, where a main server has something like over 100 HD's.

For the home user they would serve no purpose. (Unless you're a saddo who wants to record every single episode of BB, X-Factor and all the other reality TV guff that's doing the rounds.)

Frag, you are insane. Thats nearly £200 for 150gb of storage. I understand they will be faster than just about anything, but the price: performance is going to bit weighed far to heavily on the wrong side.

I was reluctent to part with cash for my 150gb raptor, and i got that just over 1/2 price.
