Seagate Firecuda SSHD Drives

Hello forumites I am asking for your opinions or experience with the Seagate Firecuda SSHD drives as i'm currently looking for new storage for my games. I can get a 1TB for £65 or would I be better off getting a smaller 240GB SSD for around about a similar price.

Thanks in advance

How badly do you need the extra space is what you should be asking yourself?

I don't really need the space but I would like to have a dedicated drive purely for games currently I have a 240GB SSD and a 2TB mechanical drive. So what I would like to do is shorten the game load times as games are taking more storage these days :)

SSDs are the future and I'll be investing in a 500GB unit this year, problem is you can't fill the damn things like you can with a mech drive as there always has to be a serviceable 20% free. I've also considered a SSHD or just get a 2TB Mech and I can just move games back and forth as I need them.

We still need the 10% free? And 20? Always thought it was 10.
And I was pretty sure we no longer really needed to do this anymore. With advancements in trim usage and windows better utilising SSDs.
If we do need it still, could you explain why?

I might get one of these for my every day rig. Don't really need an SSD, just need more storage. I have a bunch of slow 500gb HDDs but the gaming ones are all full. Maybe get a 2tb.
