Screen not filling out, black bars all around.

Hello,
I just got a monitor for my girlfriend, its an LG IPS with 1920x1080 resolution.

I have an issue with it though as there are black bars all around it. Using Catalyst Control Center I can scale the picture to fit the monitor, however I can easily tell it becomes blurry from the scaling. Only when I have scaling at 0% does it look crisp and natural, however at 0% the picture streches too far and beyond the monitor.

As seen on this picture, the Windows flag is barely visible, and the fans in Chrome is not visible at all.

Is there anything I can do to achieve the crisp picture without using scaling? I dont see why im forced to use scaling, is this because its an AMD card?

...so AMD designs cards that cannot output Full HD resolution and gives a cheap scaling-solution instead?
Seems weird cus at 0%, its too big. How can it not "scale down" automatically to fit the monitor size? Makes no sense. And how does scaling down make it blurry? Usually putting a higher resolution onto a smaller screen would make it more crisp.

Are your settings looking like the above?
With your monitors remote, change between the screen display settings on that.
Try all the different colour settings (Cinema, Personal, Gaming ect) along with trying widescreen, not widescreen ect.

Is there an Auto-Adjust feature on the monitor at all? Try resetting catalyst centre to default and then pressing the auto-adjust button on the monitor.

What version of catalyst have you got? With my old 6850 on 12.6 i had scaling issues on boot up, then it would correct itself eventually. With 12.8 this issue is fixed.

There's also an auto scale option somewhere, i can't remember exactly where the option is though. Also, in that image above try disabling GPU Scaling and selecting 'maintain aspect ratio'. Iirc that was what my 6850 was set to

I can set settings to this yes, but this still gives me black bars. Monitor doesnt have widescreen feature.

There doesnt seem to be one.

like above... disable gpu scaling and use maintain aspect ratio instead
To answer you both, I have version 12.8. I can disable GPU scaling, however, the three options below are all greyed out and it is by default set to "Scale image to full panel size". Only if I set a lower resolution (max. 1600x900) can I change between the three.

I did try set a lower resolution, change it to the "Maintain aspect ratio" and then back to my original resolution, but if I change resolution to my original it just goes back to being greyed out, and stuck on "Scale image to full panel size".

Is it a bug that they are all greyed out???
