Russia just made some Internet memes illegal? The Russian Internet Agency, Roskomnadzor, has made it illegal to publish any memes which depict a public figure in a way that is against their "personality".

Putin dreams of a reunited Soviet Union. He sincerely regrets the change to Russia, and does everything in his power to reinstate the Soviet Union to its former glory.

And he dislikes being depicted as anything else as the ultimate leader. So... this is just completely logical.

But censorship has never been good, just means people will start sharing in secret, and then the official instances will have a harder time to monitor.
