I'm going with Cram's answer because I think i've heard this one before and what Cram said rings a bell.
 
Take the 2 from the 20, leaving 0. Take the 1 from the 10 leaving 0. Add 2, 1 and 5, which = 8. So now we have an 8 and two 0's. Divide the 8 by 2 giving two 4's. We are now left with two 0's and two 4's. Rearrange them to make 04:40
