Raspberry Pi thoughts....

Good'ay y'all,

Not sure if this is the right place for this but never mind....

I'm was looking for a small PC to hide away behind MY TV for things like web browsing, video stream e.g Netflix and SkyGo.

I came across the Raspberry Pi and it seems to be a perfect cheap alternative than a barebones type PC.

Anyone have any experience with the Raspberry Pi things like software and so on.

I didn't find the RPI good for streaming. It'd work sometimes, then be jittery on different streams.

I use an Amazon Fire TV stick on one of my TVs. The interface is butter smooth and works great for streaming from Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Instant video etc. You can't web browse directly on the device, but it does support miracast for screen sharing from a wireless device. I only paid $19 for it on preorder, but even at $39 it's well worth it.

Chromecast is also an option if the Pi is too slow
