question about filling the loop for the first time

Hey!

just a quick question. now I have all my wires sleeved and have all components that I need so I was in the middle of doing the wiring and all that. but do I plug all power cables in both the psu and MB, HDD, SDD and so on, except the 24-pin, before I start leak-testing?

regards,

If you can, only power up your pump for the leak test... If you have power to other devices (even if the active pin doesn't have power) I always find it safer to have NOTHING but the pump plugged in for leak testing... so if it does leak there is no way to cause a short...

No - unplug every cable from every component.
Run the pumps off a molex, and you need to short out the psu with a paperclip or psu jumper.
Otherwise there's still power to everything else while you're leak testing, so if it does leak things can still die. You need to put kitchen roll over the psu, gpu etc if you can so you can spot easier and quicker if there is a leak.
Good luck

thats what I thougt.. but watched some videos in YouTube which recomended doing cabling before waterloops so just wanted to be sure.. :)

thanks for the replies guys! :)

I think that you would only do that to make sure that your piping and cabling don't interfere with each other and make aesthetics a headache if you can't change your layout...

personally i have an external power supply that just goes straight to a molex connector so i don't have to turn on my rigs power supply for filling.
