Afternoon everyone! :)

Just out of interest and discoveray I want to ask everyone who has a Q6600 CPU to post what they hfave there voltages at.

I am overclocking as we speak so would like a little info on other peoples chips before I go an blow mine up.. as I usually do! :)

Thanks!

Well if you go to intel and get the spec sheets it tells you 1.55v is safe. Any more 'degrades chip/shortens life'

So I rocked 3.7 @ 1.55v for quite a while but recently came down to 1.5125v for 3.6...

Benching is whatever it takes - up to 1.65v as it's only about 10-20mins.

Jim killed a c2d @ 1.6v 24/7.

It depends how long you intend on keeping the quad.

FYI Rast, your 45nm can only take 1.45v max according to Intel data sheet. 1.45v is the new 1.55v ;)

To add my current voltage I am running 3.6ghz @ 1.45v.

I guess that is way in the "safe" range.

Keep them coming! ;)

Deanzo`s screenie showed 1.84v running his QX @ 5.824! lmao melted butter! Wouldn`t trust that volt reading tho.

Think the QX is settled on like 1.25 or summit. It`s very hard to say. I`m going with the bios on that, uguru software says different and cpuz says different again.

Q is on... not sure 1.4v rings a bell @ like 3.4 atm, I`ll have to check. Think set and read similar to above tho.

I used mine at 1.64 for the purposes of finding my max stable overclock (4ghz). For 24/7 use I use 1.52 for 3.8ghz. This is with a VID of 1.2625.

Hope this helps.

Sorry I meant to get back to u on this.

Settings I have for Q6600 @ 3ghz is 1.2v.

uguru reports 1.16v, cpuz says 1.15/6/7 changing all the time.

Well I jsut did mine and with crappy nvidia board overclocking I get 3452mhz with 1.44v on idle and 1.4v on load.

Temps are 30 idle and 49 on 10min burn.

Could be a lot better but thats nvidia for you...

I had my Q6600 GO @ 3.6ghz stable 1.29v with watercooling.

I had a ASUS P5E3 Deluxe motherboard, cell shock DDR3 (1800) cracking board and ram combo, watercooled with a thermochill 120.3 rad just for the cpu,D5 vario,EK 200 res 1/2" tygon and D-TEK FuZion CPU Block with Quad nozzle kit, idle was about 24c odd load was 36c odd and my VID was 1.25v in core temp. :)

I got a new quad now with a lower vid so will hopefully get as far without the need for as much vcore.;)

What volts did you set in bios? got a screeny of it under load?

oh... well thats insane then... was it 100% stable?

where do you get your prime 95 from? i can only get a single threaded version...
