Project TTM - Cosmos 1000

as for the painting of the case max, i think tom may have slighty higher standards then us common people;), im sure it can be done for 60:)

*blush* sorry boys if some one pays me to do a job I do it properly :(

We'll see how this build turns out.

I don't want to have an argument with anyone or any bad feelings but I will do this for £60, and it will be done to a high standard. Maybe not to Tom's standards but for £60 it will be done to a ridiculously high standard as I'm doing this mainly as a favour to TomD, otherwise I wouldn't do it just for cost.

If I get the chance, when I go down to the painshop, waterjet cutters & powdercoaters I'll take some pictures for people to see the facilities :)

Thanks,

Max

i understand what your saying but its only a small bit of the case that is being painted if it were large then i would pay more :)

I had a talk to Tomd today and we decided on a few changes...

The silver bits will now be gloss black, so will the sides.

The tubing is now going to be white, this will be along with some white lights, and white glowing fans - this might change, it depends how it looks :)

The schedual has been drawn up and it looks like it should be done on time :)

More detail and pictures will follow.

Thanks,

Max

Tonight I've been sanding the side which was hand-painted.

I'll finish it off tomorrow as I'm feeling ill atm.

Here's the picture:

Here's the panel almost finished. I did this first thing this morning to get it out of the way - Just got to finish it off with some smoother sandpaper and go around the edges.

The other panel will be going in for a window to be cut on Monday or Tuesday along with a grill, this is so it can be sprayed with the rest of the stuff rather than splitting the spraying into two parts which would make it more complicated.

On Tuesday I'll be going to a friend's factory (http://www.metmachex.net/) where I'll be getting some internal covers bent for a Cosmos - not this one though, however I may make some for this one later on :) I'll post some pictures of them in here to show them off :)

Any I've got a couple of ideas on where to mount the res - EK 250 - but I'm still trying to think of a more innovative way rather than just the norm, and also thinking where it would look best so the tubing wouldn't look messy...

On a different note - I'll be posting up another slow worklog of the build I'm doing for myself soon :)

I've just been to the Water Jet cutters to pick up the side panel :)

I'm also have some other bits and pieces cut from some alu - I just picked up the sheet from a friends factory, it was ordered yesterday at around four and was there this morning! - After I've got the sound deadening foam from the back of the side panels then I will be off to the paintshop, then tomorrow I will be picking the grills up from the water jet cutters and dropping the chassis and a few other bits off at the powder coaters where they will end up in satin black :)

Tom's also decided to change the graphics and then watercool that too :)

Here's the window (sorry for the background, it was taken straight away when I put it in the boot of the car so I could send it to Tom):

Sound deadening foam off :) Just one more panel to go, which will take longer because it hasnt had most of it cut out as this panel did have.

why are you having pannels cut? u throwing away the original ones?

I'm not sure what you mean...

The panel which was originally on the case - a Cosmos S panel - is going onto a different case :)

What case is it going onto? These look really nice with all that black removed. :D

Keep it up Max. :)

The panel is going onto another Cosmos :)

I dropped the panels off for paint today - gloss black - should be done sometime next week.

There's some little things which will be shown later on :)

Pics soon...

Thanks,

Max

I've been away for a while, but I thought I'd let people know how this is going on.

The original date this was supposed to be finished by was written off because of some complications.

Here's a teaser of the outer paint...

This is without much of a polish, and it's been stored for a while so there's some dust etc on it. The plastic hasnt been glued on yet as I just put it on to see how it looked.

I'm just about to go out and get some polish.

The case is also at the powdercoaters at the moment and should be back sometime this week.

Tell me what you think :)

Max

This project will be finished tomorrow, will be dropping it off at Toms and then building the computer up with him, watercooling as well...

The results are going to be sooo nice ;)
