well more finishing touches today I took her all down to route out those 20mm fan spaced upper holes to the proper 15mm spacing for rads. I also incorporated the NZXT sleeved extensions where I could. Irene really hooked me up good with those but alas some I just couldn't get to work with this build. But my mini project will kick off next week. So I'm certain to get them in that project. Still cant land on a name for the rig. But more about that at the bottom of the post on to the pics

pic showing the 20mm spacing
sad.gif
about the only negative I found with this case besides losing the top bay with anything larger than a dual rad in roof.

P1010036.jpg

the black mark is where I have to route out to center of screw hole for the 15mm spacing needed.

P1010038.jpg

Didnt bother with pics of the routed out holes lol basically I elongated the hole since it was going to be sandwiched with the rad o bottom and fans on top there was no need for perfection. Had I needed to rely on the hole to support the rad i would of most likely cut out the entire top and modified in some kind of rad grill or sheet of aluminum.

How about some suggestions for a name
smile.gif
Looking at y'all to help whatever name i go with my mini project will be called Mini ________. with the blank being my mains name. Been trying to come up with another angle as well along the lines of something big and then something that is smaller in demeanor. like Huge and Tiny lol not sure if my meaning is coming thru lol.

ok kinda like Big Switch and Little Elite (after the cases I'm using)

Looking awesome! Hope I picked all the cables you needed
biggrin.gif
I was going to have them send the 1-1 SATA power cables, but we were out of stock so I did the molex to sata.

The HTF4 has the same spacing as your rad, sorry about that, we will keep this in mind for the future. For the CES build I had to cut slits to align the rad. Luckily because of the top plastic I did the push pull and you couldn't even tell.

Lookin' very snazzy indeed.
wink.gif
I think your choice of bay res and fan controller compliment the black on the front - "Switch Blade"?

Yeah bro I have plenty of extras she y'all hooked me up good. I love the 24pin and 6pin video ones made a difference for sure in overall looks cant really tell from the pics but I can see them
smile.gif
yeah I cut the slits as well like ya said with fans on top ya cant see it so its win win in my book.

I'm liking that Switch Blade

I think we have it sorted

looks amazing, love the pastel coolant
biggrin.gif
you should call it ^ and light switch for the little one XD

thats not the pastel fluid mate it hasnt arrived yet but I had a day to myself and wanted to get that upper rad supported better, so I took her apart to clean up the front cuts and mount the upper better. Plus with the NZXT parts arriving I wanted to get it to a near finished state as I could. the fluid is just distilled water with Mayhems Deep Blue dye heres a pic with out the lights on.

Sweet mother of god.... that looks goooooood!

Thanks bro

ok was a tad bored today (home sick with flu) and after sleeping for what felt like an eternity I had a lil energy to expel. Some may of been following the convo with magic8ball and myself on xRavenx's op on the switch 810 from CES. Been toying with the ideal of making my fan controller work with the hot swap bay. Now had I not been sick and had a few more items at my immediate disposal it can be done with alot of fitting and such. The bay tray included with the 810 has the hdd elevated so the screws that hold the hdd in dont scrape the floor of the 5.25 enclosure. So what i did was cut my NZXT Sentry's bay down in half (its like an optical drive in length) and got it to fit back in the upper 5.25 bay after doing a little surgery on the rails for it. The upper most 5.25 bay's sides are removable and have to be to put a 360 or 420mm rad up top. But with a 360mm rad you can put them back in easily. With a 420mm rad the slide supports for the optical drive have to be cut off. This is what I accomplished today. Sorry camera is dead atm and no pics. But now I have the hot swap bay back and usable. Now to answer a question as to if a optical drive is usable in the swap bay........ the answer is no the power and data plugs are about 3mm different in right to left orientation.

That is awesome that you could get your hot swap in, that is perfect. I wish tho we were able to put in a optical drive that would make it perfect!

Still this case is bad ass and it will be the case for my upcoming build. I appreciate all the testing you have done.

I cant wait to see some pictures of the final product, it will be one sexy build!

Thanks still waiting on the pastel fluid been in contact with Mick and were thinking it may be held up at customs for some reason. I mean come on its just liquid
smile.gif
But he needs to check with his shipping guy who's out on bereavement til Monday so I should know more next week.

What? Why would customs stop it? I want to see it with the pastel coolant and this news is going to throw me into a murderous rage, that or the essay I should be writing right now. They are most likely contemplating stealing it because of how awesome it is. I love the look of the solid pastel coolant in the few systems i have seen it in on this site.

How Did You Get Sponsers

I just ordered this case and wanted to order a 3x140/420mm rad but now I'm worried about the spacing. Are there any rads that come with the 20mm spacing? Why on earth would they make the spacing for a 420 with 20mm spacing?

I don't own any tools that could drill new holes so I'm a little hesitant to buy a 420 now ... any recommendations??

yes use a 360mm rad instead the extra 20mm per fan wont give ya any extra cooling (well depending on what your cooling) if you dont have the tools to mod it stick with what just bolts in.

Let's say I did borrow a drill from a friend, how difficult is it to do the mod? Does it damage the integrity of the case structure?

I know I could just get a 360 but I like to push things to the limit and if I get a 360 I'll regret not pushing for the 420..
