Project Switch Blade

havent really narrowed it down yet either the Z77DU5 from Gigabyte the MSI Z77 GD65 or the Z77 Sabertooth I have looked at the Asrock ones as well just dont know enough about the company to make an informed decission.

XNine do you have the ability to look at RMA tickets??

Funny how stuff always gets in the way of a build. Either it's a hardware issue, or a real life issue that keeps you from completing it when you really want it done. At least, that's what always happens to me. What kind of board are you thinking about grabbing? I love my Asrock board.

I know right, I have been working on Nuclear Fission for quite some time now. I have had issues with stuff being shipped to me, and there were quite a few leaks in the barbs (so I bought comp. fittings).

By the way, my AsRock X79 Extreme9 is very nice (plus it comes with the game-blaster [dedicated network and sound card])

S_I_N, the Sabertooth would look so good in your rig.

Unfortunately not, since I'm not at HQ and I live a few states away, I don't have access to any internal systems/databases, however, I can always check for you. Can you PM me your RMA ticket and I'll see what I can find out

Leaks, hardware not working, sleeving, and whatever else life throws at you. I've been working on my Switch 810 for two months. Work/School/Family/Girlfriend and weather have not permitted me to get it done.

Yeah, I bought my girlfriend an AMD asrock board when her gigabyte gave us 6 months of headache. Her asrock has been more than rock solid, so I decided to buy their Extreme 6/GB board and it has been solid too! I think, if they keep upping their quality and features, and don't stagnate like MSI, Asus, and Gigabyte, I'll be going with Asrock from here on out.

Yes, AsRock boards are extremely good bang for buck. I have built rigs with two AsRock board so far, and they are excellent. Been recommending them ever since!

Not sure if ya is asking me or not XNine but I absolutly love this case. I love it so much I gave away the box today to my ex for her move cause i dont see me ever selling this case.

I'm actually considering getting another one I'm liking the Gun Metal Grey one. I have always like Gun Metal Grey lol. Gotta wait and see what OT I can get. Now that my lil ones are moving away with my ex I'll be able to do alot more OT when available.

OK going to have a few extra$$$ and time in the next 2 twoo weeks or so I want to get Switch Blade and Pocket Knife finished. More emphasis on Switch Blade. Pocket Knife has new (well to me lol) parts arriving next week and will be an SLI'd 939 rig. Just gotta iron out what PSU I want and cooling.

But I'd like to see some recommendations to my cable sleeving for Switch Blade. I'm thinking along the lines of mixed white and black sleeving. Check out the current pics below and give me your thoughts. Also in addition I will be changing out all the white bladed NZXT fans with more spectre pro Blue led fans. So 6 for the 420mm rad (yes I'll be cutting out the top of the optical bay) 1 for the rear exhaust and 2 more for the front. (one on each side of the hdd cage) But I digress this is about cable sleeve choice lol. As I stated I was thining mixed black and white. What is y'alls thoughts on that??? or should I stick with just balck, I think if I did all white it would be to much white. For this project I have previously secured a spare set of AX1200 watt cables so I wont be voiding any warranties in this process. The wiresd I'll be sleeving will be the 24 pin 8 pin cpu as well as the 6+2 pins for the gpu's. as none of the other cables are visable (or wont be when done) I wont bother sleeving them just yet if at all.

ok back and white it will be just gotta get it ordered. I have black left over most likely enough but as its cheap I'll order more. been watching a video on sleeving and this bloke makes it look super easy lol so I'm going to try his method and go sinkless. plus I love the clean look.

Ruthless the thing is I have plenty of time as i have a seperate batch of cables so i can do it a little or alot at a time lol. But yeah it can be a down right pain in the arse.

looky looky what arrived in the post today :) Fans will be here Friday had to swallow a few times real hard when I pushed the buy button on 9 more 140mm Blue led Spectre Pros. 18$ a pop but I know I'll be happy with them as the other 4 in my case are super quiet and push alot of air.
