A few days ago I got a TopCraft tool like the Dremel, with a lot of accesoires. Today I decided to test it on an old (meaning: OLD, about 10 years) uATX case I had lying around.
After drawing and cutting an 80mm hole at the back I decided to make a 120mm intake in the sidepanel and a 120mm outtake at the top. Only then I thought: why the hell didn't I make photos and make a build log out of it?
So now I made the photos áfter making the holes. I'm planning to make an as silent as possible casing for a system. The only problem is I do not have the money to buy a system to put in and my current system is already dead quiet (unhearable with side panel off).
Anyway, enclosed are some photos of the results of pure dremel testing:
1. The o so ugly front panel that really needs a paintjob (yes the sticker really says 'designed for windows NT/98' and the other one 'Intel inside pentium II')
2. The side/top panel with two 120mm holes in it. The up/front will suck air from the top/mid of the case because of the case's construction.
3. The case construction itself. The blue thing is a 3.5" module that I already tested my paintbrushing skills on.
4. The paintbrushed 3.5" module.
5. The case almost completely assembled, only the front panel is missing because it's a pain in the arse to remove.
I'm thinking about making the case black and some of the components (dvd drive etc.) blue. The top 5.25" bay will be used by a fancontroller to both control the fans and give the 120mm some room to suck air.
