Project Linnarp

Love it Warchild, nice work! I agree with your stance on tube runs. Straight always looks better than bent tube, but it's also so much more expensive that I totally understand people who do the bent tube thing.

Thanks :) It's taken a while but I can see the addiction in modding.

I'm toying with the idea of a soft green glow to shine from underneath the motherboard too. Not sure how it will look alongside the UV lighting.

I also need to strip all the fittings in the rear and colour them white. Not that you will even see them.

Maybe even cut out "Linnarp" with a scroll saw and place it somewhere where I could use some backlighting as I have left over green plexi from my last build.

I'm trying to source some electronic adjustable legs from work too so the desk can be raised and lowered, although chances of me "aquiring" these are slim.

Small update, no photos yet

Decided to go against my common sense and delid the Devils Canyon CPU anyway,

I'll run some benches later again and post screenshots with the loop setup but just to get a good idea of the improvements

Before stress test via OCCT
CPU set to 4.5Ghz with 1.150 Volts

idle: 34C
Stressed @ 20min mark: 65C

Always found that pretty damn high for Watercooling and did not like the result.

Since Delidding and making a few loop alterations, as well as improved Airintake

idle: 21C!
Stressed @20mins mark: 54C

A 10C temperature drop in my opinion is pretty damn nice. I havent even attempted to tweak the bios more yet, let alone setup my new fan controller.

That being said, as I am a little OCD on silence my fans only run at 35% so I could obviously improve this much more at the expense of higher fan noise.

While I do like to get the best performance I could not justify spending a premium on Vader fans or Noctua Redux etc.

My "desk" fans are simpl Bitfenix Specters running while the radiator fans (12 in total) are just the basic EK (Gelid) Silent fans which often come with their watercooling kits.

Well as usual, the boys at pexon came through with a sample tease of the PSU extensions on their way to me soon.

Thanks Davina and James! great work as always.

Also order a few nice accessories from EKWB to spice things up.

Plexi tube is just a spare. Will be using 25cm tubes in the desk

After review the lighting, I grew tired of UV green. Its what i have always used. Decided to go with some nice mayhem pastel green for once and white LED.

Also considering lining the interior with a layer of thin white felt. Just need to grab some samples and weigh up the options of white felt or white plexi.
