Project ЛЯ8: The unending battle

4 it is then I've started my design for front and back and figure I may as well throw them up here anyway.

Ok I'm having both side panels cut with these cutouts. I have Mirror2 acrylic and shall be having that cut also so I can mount in inside the cut and then mount other bits inside that so I can have my logo done properly and not have to delete "floating" bits because it wouldn't work.

My logo has been with me for since I started designing on computer which is about 18 years. If i've done something then its in there somewhere. The window is small because I hate large windows which show the lovely mobo and all the horrid wires.

Aside from me wanting to get the panels cut as above I'm frustrated with my WC setup.

In an effort to make it easier to fill and empty I need some more connectors and some free time. Trouble is I know once I start I'm gonna want to do all o f the final touches I thought of at the end of the big build. I am building a PVR system at the moment so I shall install CSS on that so I don't have to use my big rig and free it up for full on modding. The intention is to use a host of 90 degree turn thingys to be able to route pipes more directly as well as a switch to a large reservoir and normal top for my DDC.

This should mean a drop in average temps by 1-2 degrees under load and hopefully a bigger drop during idle because as airflow should be much better after untangling the abomination that is my wiring.

I know where to get the WC stuff :wavey: but I would like to redo all the wiring so it all reaches but I can't find the connectors (probably being dim). Can anyone help out? Molex, SATA, Fan etc will all probably be changed

The unending battle wages on :D

gah, so you have made me want a powdercoated interior... damn nice build you got here, good luck getting wires etc sorted.

What do you mean redo fan and molex?

I've braided everything to be "modder"-like but it isn't Ritchie standard. Im stripping everything out (mainly so I don't break anything) so that I can rewire everything and braid it properly.

Airflow +1

Looks +5

Ease to get everything back in without cursing and/or hurting +20

Fan cables are extended and have garish connectors

Remove and single cable so its smooth braid all the way

Molex cable have ~10cm spare between connections

Reduced gap to 2cm so everything fits perfectly then braid up properly

SATA cable have ~10cm spare between connections

Reduced gap to 2cm so everything fits perfectly then braid up properly

Ok so after almost a year I'm feeling the "itch".

So I'm tearing down, rerouting and cabling. Once I've done that then I can finally do the window cuts.

Well i think its all but due... a year is a long time in techie-land

That window cut will look amazing when you get it done

Ok update time. Just some pics with little info nothing hefty as most know I just bang it together.

New parts

Duct tape remodel :)

Idea for new GPU routing

Drive problems

Marking up for drill action

If you got sheet use it :)

My professional high class bodyshop drying facility

Just a few progress pics

You'll see the side panels and main part have oily marks on them. I haven't done anything to them as I like the brushed effect but I'm a bit grubby so you can see that in the photos.

Final pictures of it before it goes under the desk for use. I'm gonna monitor the fluid levels for a while to make sure I've got the expansion room right for gaming temperatures.
