Project ЛЯ8: The unending battle

Ok as my last update reveals I've hit a problem but no worry I'll use my signature philosophy.

On order:

Black Ice GT Stealth 360

Inline Temperature Sensor Probe

AC Ryan 4" Dual CCFL UV Kit

Variable SLI VGA Connector 1 Slot

The Stealth is 29mm deep putting it way above the motherboard so won't foul. Although I am concerned the fans may need some violent trimming (surround and half blade maybe).

I seem to have 4 to many T pieces I guess my order has reflected my plans and my plans have changed but my order haven't :) nevermind though as I will now be able to monitor water temp too.

The SLi connector is to try to reduce two gaps as I'm not sure they will fit without it (or even with it given NO measurements are given on site).

Last but not least the CCFLs are to illuminate the UV red coolant flowing through my loop. Those with eagle eyes will notice there isn't a window. Thats because its a secret. I'm also after another set of 4" CCFL in red as a warning light to use with the Multiswitch.

Well I'm back off holiday in Edinburgh (festival is mental) so modding can continue. Today's job is to re-do the upper "fan" (radiator mount) for the stealth and if i can be bothered do the flush upper "fan" cover so the case returns to its OEM look.

Nothing big but given the size issue found I'm rejigging thenits almost go time.

Wish me luck.

Can't be assed to put up pictures but its done. I may need to give it a shave by 0.5mm or so but it looks good. Haven't done the upper cover as I'd like that to be the final touch with something else I have planned.

I've done the basic construction now (admittedly there wasn't much :D ) I've just gotta do the final fitting parts now which I may be able to bash out tommorrow.

I have a UV CCFL (AC ryan) but it runs off a molex not a fan header so I cannot control it with the MultiSwitch. So please go HERE to help me clear up my ideas.

Ok so here are the annoying bits I have had to deal with.

The AquaComputer Multiswitch could not be mounted as I was hoping so it has to poke out the front to be seen (not what I wanted). So it remains unpainted which I shall fix when I am free.

Also the Multiswitch uses screws for fixing things not fan connectors and molex so I doesn't matter about my CCFLs.

The return to the reservoir couldn't be got it my original location so I extended the pipework to go 90 degrees.

I will be spraying the audio cards backplate I just haven't yet as it is not the one I want in there.

The pipework having coilsprings is taking ages now that it is the right length.

Hopefully I'll have pictures up Monday of it completed.

Ok so the major parts of the mod have finished. I couldn't wait any longer as I was suffering from CSS withdrawl so I've banged it together forgetting to do some bits so they'll be done soon. As with all my cases its black and red which is fairly easy to source parts for :D

To Do List

Touch-up painting, colour coding fixings, colour coded cabling connectors, Multiswitch painted, new soundcard finishing (don't know how i gotta buy it yet), "trimming" of Yate Loons for upper radiator, UV lighting soldered together, red lighting soldered together.

Ickle reservoir with drainage port and fill port and cramped cabling

Old case with most of the cable ties removed (37 in all) and my "Work" area

Motherboard fitted and blasted soundcard (blue LEDs on PCB not components so cant change :( )

Front and Back (Sorry they are sideways)

The shameful cabling side and neat lovely side

Agreed it is looking very sweet, although your room looks like it's gonna need some work after this haha

I've just seen a 3x 5.25" bay cover thing that can hide that hideous fan Wahoo!

Add paint cover thing to the list.

Thanks for comments guys.

Which one do you think is best?

See i think the 5th one looks fat at the 8 whereas the 4th is slim and curvy and the 6th has that void extending but not fattening the look.

Im so undecided
