Project: Centurion WC

Ok, so my system passed the leak test :)

I have put it all together, and when I try and boot it throws up the C1 error (ram). I have tried 1 stick, both sticks in green & yellow; but still the same :(

Why won't it just work. It's just not as easy as 939 anymore :(

Can anyone shed some light, I am currently searching google, but all I have found is clear the cmos which I did but it did not help.

Try to clock the RAM down a little bit if it's set at 1150Mhz already. Take it down to 1000Mhz just to see if it helps.

I can't get into the Bios because of the C1 error :(

I am really stumped.

C1 is a pita.

Basically you bought some kick ass ram that need volts/timings set manually.

Pick up some £8 512 stick of DDR2 (like PC4200)*. Slap it in, boot to bios, adjust settings (id recommend 800mhz, 2.1v, 5-5-5-15 2T), shut down, pop in new sticks and it should work.

If That fails check the waterblock mount. If its bending the board it can cause the C1 error (no, i dk how, but it does. Assuming it must just knock out a contact).

Ham = good with PCs lol.

Wow mate thats an awesome setup! You almost make me wanna take the dive and go watercooling. And im glad somebody else around here isnt afraid to purchase some Thermaltake products :)

Cant wait till its all setup!

I think your on the right lines there Ham, going to try and borrow some ddr2 off my mate and do what u said. If that doesn't work, use his ram to boot, and flash the Bios to the latest one. Pitty I have to get into windows to do that as I don't have a floppy drive.

Neither can I! I bought those Thermaltake fans because they go up to like 3000rpm lol, and I then turned them down to minimum on my fan controller. What a waste that was.

Lol yea. Maybe you shoulda got some lower RPM Noctuas or something. My next build will have those exact Thermaltake fans so im glad i could see what they looked like in a system.

I might even copy your WC setup hehe.

USB Stick??

Bios is so small though.. Ya should be alright.

If the bios can be flashed from the... well bios (EZflash style) that'd be fine. But to get a dos bootable USB stick you need to wipe the drive.

Really? Didn't notice when I did mine. Oops.. Was an empty drive though. Might be why I didn't notice.

lol

I think I win the award for the biggest n00b :noobsign:

I didn't plug in the PCI-E power for the graphics card. Plugged it in and now installing windows. I can't believe it. Well the Raptor seems rapid, formatted 8% already :)

Will post pics after tea.

Awww noes mate!!!^^ Well at least it was that and nothing more serious... happens to all of us tbh, power cables have been cause of my frustration a few times before.

Look forward to the pics :)

Added some pictures, I am installing Windows at the moment. I will start ocing when I have all drivers installed. My CPU temp was 26C in the Bios and Chipset was 31C.

But that was @ idle. I will post my oc and temps when I have sorted out my Raid 0. Just having problems with it atm.

Edit: I think I have setup the hardware Raid, been so long since I last set one up. Just installing Windows and then drivers. I will oc tomorrow cause I am going out tonight.
