Project: Bruiser

So I have finally returned home to find one or two things waiting for me. It has been a little while since I ordered these so I couldn't resist having a look..

Twin 7950s with waterblocks, MSI GD55 with 3570k, 60gb Chronos and most importantly a lovely NF-P14 kindly donated by Firat to replace my rather loud PSU fan.

Project: Bruiser. Because it's black and blue.

My case is the other side of the country so I'll start building it when I'm back next week...

Looks like it's going to be a good build, will look forward to seeing it all looped up

Got any mods planned or keeping it just a nice simple build?

Well for the moment I'm just planning on getting the thing up and running to be honest - I've been without a pc for 6 weeks and just want to get off this useless laptop!

In time it will be fully watercooled with some pretty lights but my case certainly doesn't need modding (caselabs T10). I will await some inspiration before doing anything else. There will be some minor modding like replacing the PSU fan but nothing major at this stage.

I especially like the 7950 Waterblocks

Yea I love these blocks, they look awesome filled with coolant and perform well too.

Cheers guys, I will keep this thread updated as I do bits

Well she is up and running of a fashion. I got home late last night and managed an hour just before bed. Literally plugged in the PSUs and components and installed Windows. Haven't even plugged in the power and reset switches yet! Having said that this is by far the easiest setup I've ever done - everything worked perfectly out of the box first time. Did a little test to see where she sits at the moment:

More to come - tested only with original drivers and stock coolers...

Am thinking about my pc tonight and tomorrow. Currently picking the remaining WC parts. Thinking of:

EK GPU link bridging:

With 2x http://specialtech.co.uk/spshop/customer/EK-FC-Link-BLANK-Parallel-for-EK-FC-Bridges--Acetal-pid-13485.html

(with probably go parallel but not whether serial or parallel is better to be honest).

Fan controller:

I was hanging around for the bitfenix recon touch but I want to put my pumps on it so 10w is not enough per channel. Will also need to get some molex-3pin vrm cables for this.

Am also in the market for a radiator. Probs a UT60 (360mm).

Then I'll look at some lighting..

In the meantime- tomorrow I'm going to replace the PSU fan and I'll take some shots of what's gone on so far.

Got nearly all the remaining parts through today (just need to sort out the lighting). Here's a few phots:

EK SLI/XF bridge with 2 links. Decided it would look a lot cooler with these holding the GPU blocks together. It is a little bit tricky getting the right parts but if anyone is interested the EK website is the best place to go to get the details before buying them at a better 3rd party price.

Got a few litres of X1 and some decent Tim. I did decide to get the Lamptron Touch in the end with the idea to attach my DDC pumps to a 30W channel each thus the two 3pin-Molex modulation cables.

Lastly I needed to get some extra radiator surface because as good as my RS360 is it's not going to handle 3 blocks. I decided to treat myself to a 360 monsta. Lovely!

Also got some other bits like 3 more GTs for the extra rad and barbs etc.

Still need to wait to get back down to Cornwall before I can put it all together.
