Ok guys here goes, last year i built my very first gaming rig witch was air cooled with the noctua nh-d14 and was a pretty cool machine if i do say so myself

but this year i have decided upon building a new machine and have decided to venture into the world of water cooling for the first time in my life. Also i thought i'd have a little go at modding as i'm completely new to that too so i bought the HAFX case to start myself off with a little window mod just to get myself started. so far this is the proposed Rig and hope to complete it within this year anyway lol.

Mobo: X79 ASUS Sabertooth TUF series board

CPU : waiting for ivy-bridge to compare with whats out

GPU : waiting for nvidia cards to come out to compare with the current ATI cards

but it will be the highest end card possible.

PSU : Corsair AX 1200 gold rated power supply (ordered)

RAM : going to buy 32Gig (4x8Gig dimms) haven't decided what brand and model yet

Opt : LG BH10 Bluray player (ordered)

HDD : Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB

SSD : 120Gig Kingston HyperX SATA3 2.5inch ssd

Water cooling

CPU Block : XSPC Raystorm (ordered)

the rest of the water cooling i have to do research on to find the best watercooling available.

Ok so now you have an insight to the new rig here's my first steps so far.

Here's the Motherboard and the HAFX

ok i have done the modding of the HAFX window so here's how it went.

here's it before the mod

made my measurements and taped up the parts for cutting using painters tape and pencillied in the cutting line

Here's me doing a bit of dremel work, cutting out the part for my window

Made a few more measurements and drew in my shape for the perspex window.

once that was cut i sanded off the edges with a little wet and dry.

took a round file and filed off the sharp edges of my case panel and then took some u-channel type rubber moulding and measured it out to the correct length of my window border.

I then then carefully super glued the edging very carefully and attatched the trim to the window edge.

I then attatched the window to the inside of the panel using extra strong modders tape and laid some weights on it to let it bond properly and hey presto lol

here's it next to the old cut out

well that's my progress so far and as I say that was my first attempt at a modification so don't criticise the shoddy work too much lol

looking good mate considering its your first time at modding, it does look clean and better than original window/mesh
