I am wondering if a reference 7870 fullcover waterblock would work or not?
Also will a 280 rad be enough to cool 2 of these plus a cpu or a 280 + 140?
Also would a cpu block with pump built in be enough? e.g Swiftech Apogee Drive II
Finally would a reference backplate fit?
I am new to watercooling so sorry for all the questions.

No idea about what blocks would fit mate but i doubt a 280 and a 140 would cool it well. i think its 120mm per block then another 120mm so 2x 240mm rads would be right for that but im not 100%. What case is this going in?

What on earth are you running off that mate :O.
2xWD Velociparters 150GB (raid 0) soon to be a single SSD
3xWD Green 2TB (raid 5) moving to another computer just need the case and power supply OS and a heatsink
WD Black 1 TB soon to be a 2TB as the 1TB will be moved to other PC

Id wait till you sort that out then you can have more rad choices.
I'm not sure when that will happen though as the case and power supply I want are not available in Australia yet and I cannot game at the moment as my graphics cards reach 90+*C very quickly. I can easily change things later though even if I only watercool the cards for now and not my cpu.

Are the cards sandwiched together? Whats the airflow to them like? 90 degrees sound pretty toasty for 7870's 0.0
No they are not they have 2 slots between them and I have as much airflow going to them as possible right now with upgraded fans at the intakes.

As NRG said, there's not currently a full cover waterblock available.

Could always use a universal one? EK make some decent looking ones. Just make sure to keep the RAM and VRM's nice and cool.
