Post Code AE

Morning all,

Just wondering what the post code AE means on your motherboard?
When I power the rig on, numbers are there changing and after a couple of seconds it stays solid on AE.

Just had a Google and it apparently means no legacy device detected. Any ideas?

Cheers!

Think it just says the same, should be an online manual on the website so I'll have a look now. Just says what it is but no description of how to solve it. (If there is something wrong).

Edit: Ok so the manual says AE = Boot To Legacy OS. What does that mean. O.o

Your computer stays on "AE" and doesnt get into windows right ?

"AE" is a UEFI code meaning "Legacy Boot Event".

Which apparently means " no boot device detected", enter your bios and change the boot device order.

Nah, it means everything is fine.

Asus boards show AO, Gigabyte AE, few others I'm sure.

It means the BIOS/UEFI has handed over control to the hard drives - ie, everything's working fine and you're running Windows :)
