As a mechanic for over 30 years I always prided myself on doing the best job possible with the best parts.

there is no excuse for this and I hope they Close them all down.

Thats stuff happens all the time. I do it myself if i can, if not i take it to an indipendant guy who owns a engine machine shop.

Kwik-Fit ruined the tracking on my mates punto, and knocked his calipers out of line.

I would do it myself but a) I live in an apartment building w/ no garage b) the apartment lease states I can't do vehicle maintenance in the parking lot.

Nah, this isn't representative of Jiffy Lube as a whole. I know the crew pretty well at my local shop and I know they do a good job.

Wait what? A few people at a corrupted district of Jiffy Lubes and suddenly it's further some global stereo type that we are all these horrible blood sucking beasts? Please.

ed up of the guys to do. Although, as frag said, I doubt it is representative of Jiffy Lube as a whole. Still, I'de be cautious before visiting a jiffy lube again.

If it isnt broke dont fix it

That way if they dont do the work, it will be pretty obvious

Or just buy a book on your car and do it yourself. How ive done it before. If you dont have a place to do it then drive to the gas station or Auto Zone.

Tons, I've worked at a number of the places that do. This all boils down to know your mechanic and keep him happy. Bring him a 6-pack and he'll do a fine job every time.

All the auto parts stores aroung here say no repairing vehicles in the parking lot. Does it stop people, no, but I wouldn't like to get my car towed or something.
