Okay so I went ahead and did it, from what I can see upon close magnified inspection there is no physical damage, which is DUH a good thing, just I have to wait till I can put this under a MCW60 and water cool it.
SO the suspense builds.
Here are pics:
Well if anyone didn't know, you know now, my gfs dad had this little handy tool, the gap is .004-.005mm. THAT IS SMALL!
Okay, so using the scraper in the pic, and a new blade. Using very little pressure I slowly pushed the blade under neath the cap. This of course brings the question, "How far do I push the blade in and NOT hit a capacitor?
If you look at the IHS at the right angle in a good light, you can see contour of the underside of the IHS ALSO, if you look at the card/chip from the right angle you can see the gap between the Epoxy and the capacitors. ITs very little room, but you can still see this, if you have back lighting while doing so.
SO now we wait, but I am confident the card will work.
If no one else has done this and still using a card then I might be the first MUHAHAHA.
