PLEASE HELP. The mach ii gt unti will not boot my computer. It simplydoes not start. DO i plug power into both psu and mach II unit or what I am helpless it goes way below boot up temps so it has to be shut down but nothing ever happens what can i do?

are you sure you have the wires connected around the right way ie the blue/white wires go to your pc's power button and the yellow wires from your prom go to the power switch header on your motherboard

Also system specs would help

:D Welcome to the forums

and yes you need to have both things plugged into the mains the psu and the prom you also need the power molenex connecter connected to the prom from your psu

Got It Booted Still Trouble

I have the prometeia booting the computer but now I have all kinds of blue screen errors most dealing with memory one after reformatting asking about adeqaute space. I have my hard drives raid array are they shot? do I need new drives or could it be something else? THANKS FOR THE HELP

Blue screen errors are suggestive of memory faults - is your memory currently overclocked? If so, run it at stock - in fact to install run everything at stock unless you are totally comfortable with the settings.

We could do with a list of your specs mate, as Stocky suggested above.

What power supply are you using?

I made a sg but it didnt show up i guess

FX-55 2.6

DFI SLI-DR 6-23 Bios

4x512 Mushkin Redline

PC 510 SLI (Power and Cooling)

2 XFX 7800 GTX

Was the system running 100% stable on air before you installed the prom ??

If not then run the system with only 2 sticks of ram until it is stable then install the extra ram my system will run stable with 4 sticks one day then not the next

You realy need to have your system stable on air before you install your prom especialy if it is your first time installing a prom

I am not a big fan of 4 sticks of ram in the mobo - if you need 2gig might I suggest the 1GB sticks ballistix/tracer PC4000 or the new corsair PC4400.

Or if you are just running 200Mhz (stock) then get either corsair or OCZ 2x1GB sticks as theya re rated at 2-2-3-6 at PC3200 speeds (but might not overclock as high as the forementioned sticks.

Still Blue Bios errors

  • I had changed damn near everything including the motherboard and still ram errors with the prometeia unit zero errors if I dont use the unit. What the hell would cause ram errors if they dont occur when I am not using the unit, other than the unit. I have tried 8 different configurations and 3 different types of ram none of which work properly. I have tested every component individually stating that they are all fine......WTF?!
Everything is stable on air it only fails to work with prometeia

It seems to ruin ram like it straight doesnt work....Bad Pool Caller, I boot into safe mode just fine?

Cold bug on CPU?

Also, try swapping which SATA conrollers you are using?

Have you checked the CPU temps in the BIOS? Bad contact from the Mach head on the CPU could be an issue

Cpu Temps

The temps are sitting at -15 and I have tried multiple options for raid controllers, I have honestly tried everything I can think of. I am not new to computers I am an electrical engineer, I am new to prometeia and in all my ventures with computing I have never seen anything behave like this...Thats why I am a noob to this, I thank all of you for your help...I am going to continue to take your advice

Dont use over 200 fsb to begin with my cpu using 4 sticks of ram at -25 on the cpu dont like higher than 260 fsb so far

yeah well I am not starting any higher than 200mhz and I have tried using one stick and two sticks and four sticks and I have tried using two different motherboards, one being the DFI board and the other being an asus sli premium both leading to identical errors when using the prometeia unit. So i dont know whats going on other than it being so cold it wont boot?

has your mounting kit got the metal back plate or the plastic back plate???

if its the metal back plate it could be shorting or your cpu has a cold bug I know my fx55 didnt have the cold bug

also try with a standard ata hdd

Thats right- - I went around my aluminium backplate with electrical tape coz my kit was too close to the backplate of the case, although I don't think it happened doing this will prevent any unwanted shorting.

Cold bug= memory controller not liking being cold?

I covered my metal backplate with electrical tape as well. Better safe than sorry.

Could the control board + 7800GTX SLI be pushing the PSU over the limit?

Kenny

I tried the single normal drive nothing...still ram errors I have too much work to do so no more time to try the electrical tape around the METAL back plate ...honestly though a short in both mobo's as a result of that back plate? It just seems that only the ram is effected, Hard drives work raided or not...Ram errors prevent me from booting...Memtest with prometeia fail but without pass for hours..?! Im lost but until I can get enough time to construct another rig with the prommy I will never really know...Thanks for the help

The electrical tape thing does help with stability but I have never known an issue such as yours - it is unique.

But can I ask the BIOS that you are using... is it 623-2?

Also what are your BIOS settings? Sometimes a few more volts goes a long way, also sometimes less is more - so post your BIOS settings here, do not despair, we all go through similar situations and I know it's can be incredibly frustrating/deflating - hang in there kid, we'll get you outta there real soon.

Mav

Mav when you get time can you post your bios setting as well for the 623 bios I just want to have a bit of a play with mine and stability is a big issue plus with 4 sticks of ram my system doesn't like over 260 fsb???
