i found an old post from years ago while surfing that was put up by one of your members about amd 64 processors that has been helpful but would like a little more clarification on my situation if anyone can help. i have an old emachine m6805 with a mobile athlon 64 3000+ that i would like to upgrade. found an old post from wereshark with i believe an amd ama3400bex5ar that was sucessful. i would like to know if it would bepossible to use a amn3400bix5ar 62 watt.the machine was made buy arima for emachine it is based on their w730-k8dtr or w720-K8 that is one of things i am tryin g to narrow down. i want to upgrade this old thing and put win7 on it and by the way this is just for fun and to gain computer knowledge. i have 4 other computers up and running. it is a emachine m6805 win XPsp3 onit now.emachine shadoe k8 mobo,via vt8385 apollo k8t800mamd hammer chipset,pheonix nsf04.po bios.sckt 754 clawhammer,cpu stepping sh-co.cpuid f48h.1meg L2, it has 768 of ram and am going to 2 gig.ati mobility radeon 9600 video chip. i know its old. it was top of line for laptop back then! GPU code nameM10/M11 {agp8x 1002/4e50,rev00. CPU properties 89 watt,1.55-1.45 core voltage,I/0 v 1.2+2.5,process tech 9Mi,0,13um,CMOS,Cu,SOI. anybody got any links or ideas they would be much apprecated.thanks.tpw
