Words cannot explain my fustration

I loaded up my pc (so i could start redoing the drivers for my hawks) and went to cpuz and according to it, I have 1 CORE and 2 THREADS!, I went into the bios enabled all the cores (only offered 2) and im sitting here dumstricken what the hell is wrong with this thing now?! Ive also noticed that the pc is slower and could be the reason why it keeps shutting down on me when I attempt to play a game.

I just reset the cmos and still the same thing just im back to stock clocks from the 950 atm, I gues this week Im going to have to reseat the cpu....hmm actually there all in the device manager! all 8 of them, ok now im clueless

oh its only got 2 boxes

Because it's happening in the BIOS I don't think it's a Windows issue. Once the BIOS sees it correctly, Windows will as well.

Reinstall windows ^^^^

but first you could have a look in your Bios see if you have a feature to Enable all cores in your CPU area!

&

msconfig>>boot>>advanced options and see how many cores are listed...select the 4 and reboot. If it is already ticked UN TICK it

like hmm said its a componant or a bios issu.windows has now been ruled out.

i would re-install windows after makin sure the cpu is seated

dont think it would be a seating problem because it wouldnt run at all if it wasnt seated correctly, its more than likely a windows problem what processor did you installed on your windows before you upgraded to this?

definitely check out the msconfig settings above ^^

it was stilll the same 950 u dont think the guy could of thought my chip was a good one and changed it for a different 950? (i think im being overeative here a lil) ive got to buy some thermal paste soon, once I get a couple of days of workk of....

so in the drop down menu its only got 1 and 2 to choose from? btw the 8 is because each processor can have two threads ^^
