NZXT H440 Custom Colour Swap

I have actually been planning a Skylake build since my current rig is in dire need of an upgrade, I was actually weighing my options between the H440 or Define S, I like both due to their quiet focused, understated design but I don't like any of the colour schemes the H440 and I can't find the Razer version (not to mention I don't want a large green logo on the front of my case).

I'll be going for a black and white build, I know I'm hardly the first one to do it but I really like the theme and the stealth black H440 would look excellent. Budget is somewhat tight so I will be going for a bang for the buck build, but I have chosen parts with a colour scheme in mind and will of course be putting the effort to make it look good and making a build log along the way on this site and LinusTechTips where, admittedly, I've been spending more of my time so far although I have been watching the OC3D TV videos for 2-3 years and Rushkit for as long as it's existed.

Not completely settled on the parts but this is the current shopping list:

Intel Core i5-6600K
CM Hyper 212 EVO (possibly painting the top black or white if it looks good)
16GB DDR4 (hopefully I can find a white set at a decent price, but black would look nice too)
ASUS Z170-A

Parts I have (from my current rig):

EVGA GTX 760 SC ACX (for now)
Corsair CX600M (need to figure out a way to make the cables look good without spending too much, especially the 24 pin rainbow, probably an extension since they're fixed)
Crucial MX100 256GB
Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB

I want the all black Nzxt to match my current all black build, and because I absolutely hate the case I have right now. I have a Nanoxia Ds1 and half the clips and push mechanisms don't work anymore, the fans don't mount properly, airflow is trash, it doesn't have modern fan support, the window is too small and cheap and I could list things I hate about it for days. If I get the case you can expect a build log of my switch and mini reviews.

Hi Tom,

My name is Alex, I've just upgraded my PC from Sandy Bridge to a X99 platform because I'm trying to get into streaming on Twitch. I got all my parts and build up the new rig but because I am out of money I've build my system in my old Antec 1200 and the side panel wont close anymore because of the h100i GTX cooler hoses. I've tried removing the vent from the panel and it still wont close, if I force it I might damage the hoses because of the vent mounting bracket that's on in the side panel. I could remove the whole thing from the side panel that holds the vent but then the mesh would also fall off and I would remain with a big hole in my sidepanel. Also there is no other spot or different orientation for me to mount the cooler in this case, it's a forced and tight fit already, had to mount it with the screws loose and force them 1 by 1. The motherboard I use is a Asus X99-Pro black and white, black memory Hyper X ram sticks which would look nice inside that black matte stealth H440. Also because of the lack of space I keep the case under my desk and I'm afraid not to kick the components with my feet by mistake. Would really appreciate if you could help me with this.

The build contains:

-CPU: Intel Core i7 5820K O.C 4.4 Ghz
-Motherboard: ASUS X99-PRO lovely Black and White
-Memory: 16 Gb DDR4 Kingston Hyper X 2666 Mhz Black Sticks
-Cpu Cooler: Corsair H100i GTX Extreme Performance
-Graphic: MSI Nvidia GTX 780Ti O.C 1200 Mhz using an EVGA ACX cooler on this one
-SSD: Samsung Evo 840 250 GB
-HDD: WD Caviar Black 500GBx2 RAID0
-PSU: SuperFlower Golden King 750w Platinum

Here are some pictures to explain whats wrong:

Kind regards, Alex.
PS: Keep up the good work.

I would like the stealthy H440

I've would really like to get the black H440, but I doubt you would ship to US, but I'll post my planned rig anyways.

Currently this are my specs
Intel i7 4790k
ASUS z97 maximus vii formula
ATI XFX Radeon r9 270x
Evga supernova p2 1000w.
16gb ddr3 2133 ram
120 ssd
1tb hdd
Stock cooler
All inside a poor man's DIY Pc dolo T1

My plan was to either get a corsair graphite 780t or a nzxt H440 black and red. Along with extra peripherals to water cool it.

So far my plan has been to slowly upgrade components in my pc. I used to run a amd A8 and now I'm running an i7 haswell refresh with perhaps the most op mobo on the market. The psu was a recent upgrade as well, followed two weeks later by a kit of 16gb Avexir core series red led ram.

My upcoming project includes the following
Buying a gigabyte gtx 980 ti wd from newegg (should have the cash in a week times)

After the video card I plan to save some money, work a little through my second year of collage and near Christmas break, or during spring break buy the components for the water cooled loop which would include the following.

Xspc raystorm cpu block
Xspc photon 270mm reservoir
At least one 360 mm radiator (reg thickness)
D5 pump
Red or black soft tubing
Ek waterblock for the gpu (if a compatible one is out on the market by that time #hereshoping)

This would be the culminaron of a nearly 2 year plan, since the H440 has enough space for a rad on top and in the front I might also throw a second 240 mm or 360 mm rad for overkill.

To sum it up.
My final rig would be rocking the following(if the gods are kind)
I7 4790k
ASUS Z97 maximus vii formula
Avexir core series 16gb 2133 ddr3 ram
Nvidia Gigabyte gtx 980ti wd
PNY 120 gb ssd
WD Blue 1tb hdd
Anything from 4 to 7 120mm fans
Evga supernova p2 100w
Nzxt H440 all black (fingers crossed)
Along with a custom water loop including
1 xspc 360 rad (reg thickness on both)
1 xspc 240 rad
Xspc raystorm cpu block (red led)
Xspc photon 270mm reservoir (red led)
D5 pump
Soft red or black tuning
A lot of compression fittings
And clear coolant

So does anyone think I could do something different? Any suggestions?

themed custom watercooled server

Hello.
You said you wanted us to explain what we would do with the all black case.
I currently have a white build and it would complement it.
A server fully watercooled (probably white coolant) all video logged and logged on the forum.
The all black is really surprisingly sexy.
Leo

Why all those multiple posts, Maraku? .-.

However, the black one is very cool indeed, wonder why NZXT doesn't make a full black version.

Unfortunately I have not enough money to build my new PC right now, nor I'll have enough for a proper custom watercooling when I'm going to upgrade. So, sadly I can't get it. GL to everyone

Tom, that white/red chassis is just crying out for either the Gigabyte Z170 G1 or Gaming 7!!!

Please say you'll use either board!

Great video as always :). This mod (or is it two?!) is/are really effective, creating two unique cases - the white and red one certainly has some 'pop' and suits the colour direction of OC3D, whereas the black one is dark, stealthy, almost like it's sucking the light out the room! I hope who ever obtains it creates a build log worthy of it .

Man that stealth version looks sweet

Hello Tiny Tom and the OC3D Team, long time watcher first time poster.

Not big forum person so apologies for not joining sooner but DAMN does that all black H440 look sweet. I of course want it for a build I've planned next year, I was going to go with the black/red variety but after seeing your video I'm thinking do make something like the 450 with the LED's under the chassis (maybe some inside as well) and just straight up black elsewhere.

It'll be my first custom loop build I was initially going to go for a black/red beast but you've inspired me, now I'm thinking heavy black and hints of red. So now It'll probably be everything but the tubes and reservoir black with red tubes/ reservoir/ coolant although we'll see later to the date.

The build internals will be primarily undecided until the time of building but it'll more than likely be a SLI configuration, 16 gig of RAM, modest sized SSD, etc I won't bore you with the specifics but it'll be a monster of sorts.

Anyway, I've said my part so I won't keep you but best of luck to everyone else, thank you for the opportunity on getting this case (although it may collect dust for a few months) and all the best.

For the first of hopefully many posts,

LIZADRFINGERZ signing off.

Sorry I was fixing misspellings I made in the original post, and I'm also using my phone so I mi gb t had pressed quote before pressing save changes

I hope this shut up that guy who said the channeling took a boring turn;)

I seriously love the all black version. I'd buy that in a heartbeat!

Good day Tom. I wasn't expecting you to say you were going to give the all black case away at the end of that video. It's super beautiful. I'm also surprised at how simple it was to swap the accents between the two cases. I wonder if you can ask NZXT to do this for you if you contact their support.

Anyway, to explain why I want this. I don't have a desktop, I plan on building one (with dollars stretched so far I use them as my blanket) and regardless of what giveaways I win, I'm going to make a build vlog of it. I've made numerous builds for the past two years on PcPartPicker as a means to keep up with the best at certain price points and I've made another one, excluding parts I already have such as storage, from former computers for this case. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Ephruz/saved/#view=VbHtt6

I wouldn't be able to get parts of this caliber if I didn't get this case. Probably won't even make the same build if I don't get this case.

For my son

Hello

Firstly thank you fit your videos!

I would like to win this case for my son, he helped me build my PC about a year ago and is now wanting one of his own and this would make a great start. He is 10 years old and loves to play a out of indie bands such as goat sim.

Unfortunately I do not have a huge budget so the build would be a very modest one with the options as below:

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/cbB2CJ - AMD

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/CgkVzy - Intel

Again I know these are not massive balls to the wall builds but both would look amazing in that stealth case.

Anyway thank you for your time and if you would like pic's of him doing the build a year ago let me know.

Keep up the good work!

Tom. (Also my name)

The all black just looks amazing!

Hey, first time on the forums!
Been watching oc3d for a few months now and your video finally got me to the forums.
I would love to build in that system, and will probably do it myself soon.
Of course I can't afford two cases, but seeing how easy it was to take apart some plastidip will do=)
I've been struggling for a while to find a case i want to put my build into, and the red/black h440 was in my top three.
Currently I've got two 970's in a corsair 200r and its way too cramped.
I'm not considering this an entry for the give away as I'm a one day member and I live in America, but I really wanted to thank you for the idea!
I hope someone gets it that will really enjoy it.

For my first build

Great case customisation man. The reason I feel I need this case is because I am building my first editing pc this year. I am going to be using a x99 deluxe, 16gb of ram and a 5820k . As a media student I have been raising for a year and I am nearly at my target (400 off) and if I could get the case I'll do a full build vlog. This will be my first build so this will be very interesting for me to see how it goes.

Love this colour swap! And the fact you are giving something away is amazing.

I would love a chance at getting a NZXT H440 in 'stealth black'.

Here is why...

I currently have a Cooler Master 690 III (Windowed)
It is far too large, it hardly fits under my desk (there is no where else to put it) and it keeps overheating.
The H440 is a smaller case and looks much better for air cooling, plus it's a much nicer looking case.
I would take my current system and transfer it to the NZXT case.

This would then leave me with a CM 690 III doing nothing... Here is where things get interesting... Tom, you may or may not have one of these 690s laying around, but if you don't I'd love to send this one to you to see what you could do with it...
I reckon you could create something amazing, maybe with a bit of paint etc etc... You know the drill.

I believe you could make an awesome mod and at the same time an awesome video, or set of videos from start to finish.

That's my idea, I hope you like it.

Nice little video :) it reminded me of the time I built one Alienware out of three.

Good fun :D

Edit. It's also fun seeing the 1 posters crawling out of the woodwork on the promise of something for nothing lol.
